Barcelona player ratings vs Young Boys: Ageless Robert Lewandowski swats Swiss opponents aside as Raphinha and Pedri produce magic in Champions League
The striker netted two goals, helping Hansi Flick's team secure their first win in Europe this season in Catalunya.
Following a disappointing weekend where they lost 4-2 to Osasuna, Barcelona entered their Champions League match against Young Boys on Tuesday eager to make a statement. What ensued was a showcase of stunning football, as Barcelona's offense clicked seamlessly, dominating their Swiss rivals and achieving a convincing 5-0 victory.
Barcelona took an early lead just eight minutes into the match when Robert Lewandowski appeared at the back post to convert a cross-shot from Raphinha. The Brazilian later scored the second goal, following up on a blocked shot from Pedri.
Pedri quickly took on the role of playmaker, delivering a fantastic free-kick into the box that Inigo Martinez headed into the net. Just five minutes into the second half, Barcelona increased their advantage when Martinez connected with a corner from Raphinha, directing a diving header back towards the goal for Lewandowski to finish off with a simple tap-in.
The Blaugrana scored a fifth goal towards the end of the match when a cross from Alejandro Balde was accidentally deflected into the net by Mohamed Camara.
