Musician Ingrid Andress, who sang at the MLB's Home Run Derby and received criticism for her rendition of the national anthem, has admitted to being intoxicated during the performance and has decided to seek treatment at a rehabilitation center.

On her social media accounts, the 32-year-old posted a message admitting that she had been intoxicated the previous night.

"I am going to a treatment center today to receive the support I need. The person I was last night is not who I truly am. I am sorry to MLB, all the supporters, and this country that I adore for my behavior. I will update you on my progress in rehab. I have heard that it can be a positive and enjoyable experience."

She ended the letter with: "hugs and kisses, Ingrid."

Andress's rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the baseball game in Arlington, Texas was criticized by many viewers as the worst they had ever heard at a big sports event.

Her performance of a cappella music was smooth and well-received on social media on Monday.

One person on X harshly commented that the national anthem rendition was so bad it made their ears bleed.

A different person described her account as "quite intriguing, to say the least..."

One person commented, "We can now hear how a Grammy nominee's voice sounds without Auto-Tune or any music in the background (a cappella).... Her career could be in trouble."

Some people made a joke about how Joe Biden could have sung that song more effectively.

Some people even pleaded: "Please, never attempt to sing our National Anthem again."

One person wrote that the Ingrid Andress national anthem was really bad, possibly the worst thing in America in the past 2 days. Another person replied, mentioning the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, saying it wasn't a good week for music.

Some people thought her performance was similar to Fergie's in 2018 at a basketball game, which was criticized as one of the worst versions in recent years. Critics are now saying they would have liked Fergie's version better.

"In all honesty, I have to say that this anthem is the worst I've ever listened to. Fergie would have been a better choice," someone commented respectfully.

Some people shared funny pictures of people partying, implying that Fergie would be happy with Monday's performance. A user jokingly commented, "Fergie must be happy to see Ingrid Andress surpass her for the worst National Anthem performance."

Prior to her Monday show - and the wave of negative feedback - the singer, who has been nominated for a Grammy, revealed that she will be releasing a new single on July 24.
