Ingrid Andress admits being drunk during off-key national anthem and says she's going to rehab
A country singer from the United States has said sorry and confessed that she was intoxicated when she sang a very out-of-tune rendition of the national anthem.
Ingrid Andress's performance at a baseball game received a lot of criticism and surprised the audience with a not-so-great high note.
She kicked off the performance at the Home Run Derby on Monday in Arlington, Texas, and it quickly caused a stir on social media.
"I apologize, I'm sure Ingrid Andress is a lovely individual, but in my opinion, that was one of the poorest renditions of the national anthem I have ever heard," stated Alex Carr, a writer for Sports Illustrated, on X.
"Remember when your Mom fibbed and told you that you were an amazing singer?" remarked one of the most popular comments on YouTube.

The 32-year-old apologized promptly, writing on Instagram: "I won't lie to you, I was intoxicated last night. Today, I am entering a facility to receive the support I require."
I wasn't myself last night. I'm sorry to MLB, the fans, and the country I adore for my performance. I'll update you on how rehab goes, I've heard it's really enjoyable.

Many other singers have also been ridiculed for their performances of the American national anthem at sports games.
Roseanne Barr's comedic performance at a baseball game in 1990 became well-known, while Fergie's unique rendition at the 2018 NBA All-Star game was also heavily criticized.
