There’s growing speculation that capital gains tax (CGT) will soon increase as Labour gets ready to present its first budget this month. This follows reports indicating that Chancellor Rachel Reeves might raise the rates to somewhere between 33% and 39%. Earlier on Thursday, The Guardian mentioned that Reeves had considered lifting CGT rates to as high as 39%.
