Anne Hathaway expressed her gratitude towards Christopher Nolan, the director of Interstellar, for giving her a role in the movie even though she had a negative image at the time.

During a recent interview, the celebrity known for her role in Les Miserables remembered a time when online users relentlessly ridiculed and criticized her for being too genuine. This became known as "Hathahate". She mentioned that the director Nolan was one of the rare individuals who didn't let the negativity affect his perception of her.

Many individuals refused to cast me in acting roles due to the negative reputation I developed online," she disclosed to Vanity Fair. "However, Christopher Nolan was different and didn't worry about that. He gave me a stunning part in one of the greatest movies I've ever had the pleasure of working on."

Hathaway starred as Dr. Amelia Brand, a NASA scientist, in Nolan's award-winning science fiction movie. Reviewer Geoffrey Macnab from The Independent commented that her acting was "moving".

Hathaway mentioned that she wasn't sure if Nolan was aware that he was publicly supporting her during a challenging period in her profession. Nevertheless, Hathaway acknowledged that his decision to cast her ultimately had a positive impact on her career, regardless of whether it was intentional or not.

"I could have lost career momentum if he hadn't supported me," she stated.

The picture depicts two movie franchises coming together: Amazon and MGM Studios. This partnership could have major effects on the entertainment industry.

The actress from the movie "The Princess Diaries" confessed to looking up her own name online soon after winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Les Miserables" in 2013. To her dismay, she stumbled upon an article titled "What's with all the hate for Anne Hathaway?"

Hathaway elaborated on the challenges of facing public criticism, stating that humiliation can be an extremely difficult emotion to handle. Despite this, she emphasized the importance of not allowing it to stifle one's confidence. It can be tempting to play it safe and avoid drawing attention to oneself, believing it will protect against further criticism. However, Hathaway suggests that being bold and refusing to let humiliation close you down is key to overcoming negative feedback.

“If you have such intentions, then being an actor might not be the right career path for you,” she added. “Being an actor is like being a tightrope walker or a daredevil. You have to convince people to give their time, money, attention, and care to you. Therefore, you need to offer them something valuable in return. If it doesn't require any effort from you, what exactly are you providing?”

The performer is set to appear in the suspenseful film Mothers' Instinct, alongside her former Interstellar co-star Jessica Chastain. During the same conversation, Chastain revealed that collaborating with Hathaway on the production was a challenge for her.

Starting from Wednesday, March 27th, Mothers' Instinct will be presented in cinemas all across the United Kingdom.
