A member of Parliament from the Conservative Party has been stripped of their membership status for allegedly using campaign funds inappropriately. This marks the most recent scandal involving unethical behavior in Rishi Sunak's political party.

There are claims that Mark Menzies utilized a significant amount of money donated by supporters to cover his healthcare costs. Furthermore, it's been reported that he called an older assistant late at night and stated that he was in need of assistance because he had been confined by nefarious individuals who demanded payment for his freedom.

The member of Parliament for Fylde disagrees with the accusations that were mentioned in The Times, but the Conservative Party is conducting an inquiry into the matter.

The accusations were reportedly made known to Tory HQ over three months ago, but it wasn't until a dramatic report was published that an investigation was finally initiated. This decision has brought up concerns about hypocrisy, as top members of the Conservative party had strongly criticized Angela Rayner, the deputy leader of the opposing Labour party, for selling her ex-council house back in 2015, spending several weeks attacking her over the matter.

According to someone from the Labour party, it's quite astonishing that Ric Holden and James Daly have been urging the authorities regarding Angela but not once did they report the Mark Menzies situation at the CCHQ for more than three months.

The suspension also brings up the possibility of another challenging by-election for the Conservatives in Mr Menzies' Fylde seat. His majority is 16,000 which is not as large as the majorities that Labour have managed to overturn this parliamentary session.

A representative of Simon Hart, who is the chief whip for the Conservative party, stated that Mr. Menzies decided to surrender his membership in the Conservative party while waiting for the investigation's results. As a result, he will now be an independent Member of Parliament (MP).

The Times reported that money donated for the purpose of supporting Conservative party campaigning was redirected to Mr. Menzies' personal bank accounts, amounting to £14,000. The money was then used to cover expenses for Mr. Menzies' own medical care.

According to reports, the Member of Parliament, who serves as one of Rishi Sunak's trade representatives, supposedly contacted his previous campaign manager (who is now 78 years old) at 3.15am in December. The MP apparently stated that he was trapped inside a flat and required £5,000 urgently, as it was a matter of utmost urgency.

Reportedly, the amount of money accumulated to a total of £6,500. However, the payment was made by an office manager utilizing her individual bank account. Later on, the money was returned by the funds accumulated from contributors, held within an account titled Fylde Westminster Group.

Based on information received from someone who has a good relationship with Mr. Menzies, the politician had encountered someone through an internet dating platform and went over to this individual's apartment. After that, he accompanied another man to a different location where he continued to consume alcohol. At some point, he became ill and some individuals in the area requested £5,000 to cover cleaning expenses and other charges.

According to the informant, Mr Menzies opted to give them money out of fear of the potential consequences. However, he lacked the financial means to transfer the funds from his personal savings account.

There are other instances where it is reported that Mr. Menzies utilized funds from the campaign account to pay for his personal expenditures.

According to a report by The Times, it is said that in 2020, he asked for £3,000 to cover his medical expenses. However, he did not return the money, but instead asked for an additional £4,000 and was able to receive it.

According to the newspaper, someone close to the MP has challenged this version of events. They claim that it was actually the ex-campaign manager who proposed that Mr Menzies utilize the business account funds to cover his medical bills. However, it is believed that the manager denies this accusation.

According to the allegations, Mr Menzies received an additional £7,000 from the account in November.

Mr. Menzies has issued a statement to The Times and has denied all claims made against him. He has stated that he has followed all guidelines for disclosures, and he disagrees with the accusations of the investigation. Mr. Menzies has also said that he will not be giving any further comments until the investigation is complete.

A representative of the Conservative Party has stated that they are looking into accusations made against a Member of Parliament. That said, the investigation is being conducted in a confidential manner.

. It is worrying that certain members of parliament are vulnerable to being swayed, intimidated or deceived at a time when our country's security is under attack from various directions.

On Thursday morning, Grant Shapps, who is the current defence secretary, attempted to evade inquiries regarding the suspension of Mr. Menzies. He suggested that the Sky News channel ought to ask him about the "circumstances unfolding in Iran" instead.

An irritable Mr Shapps mentioned that he wasn't aware of the specifics of the accusations made towards Mr Menzies. He believed that he was invited on the TV show to discuss "the two global wars."

He acknowledged that there is an ongoing investigation, but criticized the interviewer for concentrating on a topic that was not the reason for his appearance on the show. He mentioned that there are currently two wars happening globally.
