On Sunday afternoon, at London Stadium, Burnley and West Ham United faced each other in a Premier League match. Despite being two goals down, West Ham United managed to make a comeback and secured a draw by getting two goals, resulting in both teams getting one point each.

The game in east London was divided into two very distinct halves during a rainy match. Burnley got ahead by two goals before halftime with David Datro Fofana's impressive long-range shot and Dinos Mavropanos's own-goal.

During halftime, Manager David Moyes modified the tactics and team players which resulted in a significant improvement in West Ham's performance. They managed to score twice, thanks to Lucas Paquetá and substitute Danny Ings, one after the other. However, they were unable to clinch a win and had to settle for a draw.

The initial part of the experience was quite unremarkable, to say the least.

It took West Ham almost half an hour to make their first shot at goal and they didn't manage to test James Trafford, who had successfully saved 104 goals in the previous 27 games of the Premier League.

In the game, West Ham only made a few tries towards the goal. One of these tries was when Jarrod Bowen headed the ball but it ended up going way too far to the side. James Ward-Prowse also made an attempt to score but he failed to convert the ball, probably because he was distracted by a Burnley player. Additionally, both Mavropanos and Mohammed Kudus ran to the goal but missed by shooting their left foot too much to the side.

Burnley did not have a strong offensive presence, yet they managed to score two goals with just two shots on target.

Fofana, a football player from Ivory Coast, scored a powerful goal in the first eleven minutes of the game that left Alphonse Areola, the opposing team's goalkeeper, with no chance to prevent it. The ball went straight into the top right-hand corner of the goal. During the second half of the game, as half-time approached, Jacob Bruun Larsen took a free-kick from long-range and made the goalkeeper, Areola, work hard to save it.

Just as the game was about to end, the Danish player helped create a clever play that resulted in Mavropanos accidentally scoring a goal for the opposing team, from a pass by ex-Hammer Josh Cullen.

The last part of the game was completely different from the beginning, similar to how a knockout tournament feels, rather than a regular Premier League game.

During the match, Moyes decided to make some alterations by substituting two players, Michail Antonio and Edson Álvarez, during half-time. Furthermore, he decided to modify the team formation to a potential 4-2-4 setup.

It only took 28 seconds for the result to show when Paquetá stole the ball from Maxime Èsteve, rushed towards the goal and skillfully scored by rolling the ball past Trafford, landing it in the bottom left-hand corner with confidence.

West Ham looked rejuvenated and relentlessly attacked Trafford's goal. Despite Mavropanos's header being thwarted, Bowen had a shot that seemed certain to score but it hit Paquetá who was in its way. After that, the Brazilian missed an opportunity to score when he curled a shot wide after receiving a pass from Antonio. He also fired another shot that was too close to the Burnley goalkeeper.

The Irons appeared to have some issues with their defense, as Fofana took a shot that went straight to Areola and Vitinho's attempt barely missed the goal after deflecting off Aguerd's heel.

As the precipitation persisted, the attacking efforts of West Ham persisted as well.

Kudus attempted a shot which was taken from a distance of six yards, and Álvarez also tried to score from the edge of the D. A deflection caused by Coufal's cross hit the face of the crossbar. Mavropanos made a header off Aaron Cresswell's corner which went over the goal post, while the team captain Tomáš Souček shot the ball directly at Trafford.

Towards the end of the match, it appeared as if West Ham had equalized when Ings, who had just entered the pitch as a substitute, scored with his initial touch. However, after a VAR assessment, officials concluded that Antonio's shoulder was beyond the offside line from Paquetá's free-kick before he made contact with the ball, which he then passed to Ings for the goal.

However, the striker from England couldn't be stopped. He managed to control Kudus's cross and then turned around to shoot the ball low past Trafford.

West Ham still had some fight left in them, as Antonio's pass managed to slip past Paquetá and miss the far corner. In the end, Ings' attempt bounced off the crossbar.

Referee Darren England had the chance to reject a last-minute penalty call but Sander Berge unintentionally hit the ball with his arm, giving an opportunity for Areola to impressively save and prevent Josh Brownhill from scoring a winning goal for the away team.

When the game ended, both teams had the same score, but Moyes will regret how his team played in the first half as it caused the Irons to lose their chance at winning their third consecutive Premier League match.
