Moyes praises West Ham's 'brilliant achievement'

West Ham has made it to the quarterfinals of a European competition for the third time in a row.

The coach of West Ham, David Moyes, has expressed his delight in achieving a remarkable feat of securing a place in the quarterfinals of a major European competition for the third consecutive time. He termed this accomplishment as a "fantastic success".

On Friday, the draw for the Europa League quarterfinals will include them - a feat they haven't accomplished for three consecutive seasons.

Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Aaron Cresswell, and Mohamed Kudus all scored goals, leading West Ham to their most significant victory since Moyes returned to the club in December 2019. At that time, they were fighting to escape relegation, which they didn't succeed in until the last few matches of the season.

Moyes confessed that he couldn't envision the advancement that West Ham has achieved since that time.

He expressed contentment with his ability to contribute to West Ham and stated that he did not desire to lead a team at the bottom of the league. His goal was to manage a team that was constantly striving for success, and for the most part, that has been the case.

Over the past few years, the club has successfully progressed in numerous ways. We managed to avoid relegation, participated in European competitions, consecutively qualified for a second year, won a trophy, and presently entered a quarter-final. This is indeed an impressive accomplishment, and it's difficult to express how exceptional it has been. Furthermore, we have recruited some outstanding players to strengthen our team.

One of the latest additions is Kudus.

Since his arrival from Ajax last summer, the Ghanaian player hasn't been performing consistently.

Nevertheless, despite having already secured the tie, he dazzled the London Stadium crowd with a phenomenal brace in the closing stages of the game.

Kudus made a fantastic play during the first effort by charging forward alone through the center of the field, and the Freiburg defense was powerless to halt him. During the second attempt, he delivered a powerful and unstoppable shot.

Moyes shared that the initial shot brought back memories of the former dribbling wingers who would break through opponents with their agile hips. He believed that the impressive goal was reminiscent of the classic Roy of the Rovers type goal.
