Lopetegu pleased with West Ham progress after first pre-season game in charge

Danny Ings and Nayef Aguerd both scored goals in the second half to help the Hammers make a late comeback. The team also gave debuts to new signings Luis Guilherme, Max Kilman, and Wes Foderingham.

Lopetegui was happy to move forward with their plans for the upcoming season, in hopes of doing better than the challenging previous season under Moyes.

West Ham will visit National League team Dagenham & Redbridge this Saturday, then jet off to the United States for matches against Wolves and Crystal Palace.

Today we had our first match on the field, and it was tough. This was a great challenge for us, as we were up against a team that is gearing up for their Champions League games next week. They have been training hard for a month, so it was a good test for us.

The test was extremely challenging, pushing us to push ourselves further and boost our pace, effort, and creativity. It's important to remember that we are also competing with many talented Academy players.

"It's great that they were able to gain some experience with us, and now we need to keep pushing forward with our work."

We have been in Austria for a week and the coach has been pushing us to work hard. We are adjusting to the new style of play and it is a fresh experience for all of us.
