The latest news is that Vincent Kompany has been chosen as the fresh manager for Bayern Munich. This decision was reached after some discussions between the clubs, and Kompany's exit was agreed with Burnley.

As reported by ESPN over the weekend, Bayern has reached an agreement worth £10 million ($12.7m) for the acquisition of Kompany. Despite Burnley's unfortunate relegation from the Premier League this season, Kompany will be taking over Thomas Tuchel's position at the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern's recruitment process has faced difficulties but they have finally completed it by successfully hiring a new personnel. Initially, the club had announced in February that Tuchel would be leaving at the end of the current season.

"I'm eagerly anticipating the opportunity at FC Bayern," said Kompany in a statement. "It's an immense privilege to be employed by this team - FC Bayern is a symbol of excellence in global soccer."

Bayern's sports director, Max Eberl, expressed his happiness regarding the acquisition of Vincent Kompany to FC Bayern. He stated that during their discussions, they were in complete agreement. Kompany demonstrated his enthusiasm for the FC Bayern position and conveyed a strong desire to take on the task.

Vincent Kompany is ambitious, and he gives his all: he was already a prominent force in the highest levels of global soccer as a player, and now, he's setting an example as a coach.

There were rumors that Bayern was interested in hiring Xabi Alonso, the coach of Bayer Levekusen, and Julian Nagelsmann, who used to manage them before. However, both of them decided to stay with their current teams, which means that Bayern will have to look elsewhere.

The Bayern team talked about possibly working with Ralf Rangnick, who used to manage Manchester United temporarily. However, Rangnick declined the offer since he decided to stay as the coach for Austria.

Afterwards, there were rumors circulating that Bayern's management team, Eberl and Christoph Freund, were in talks with Tuchel about changing their previous resolution made in February. Even so, Tuchel made it clear before the team's last game of the season that he would not be continuing as the club's manager.

Tuchel had an initial deal that was set to end in 2025. According to rumors, he wanted to prolong his stay by an extra year until 2026, provided that both parties agreed.

After a chaotic season, Leverkusen managed to end Bayern's 11-year long reign as champions of Bundesliga. In the second round of DFB Pokal, they faced a defeat against Saarbrücken, and in the semifinals of Champions League, they were eliminated by Real Madrid.

Kompany's selection as a manager comes as a bit of a shock, as the 38-year-old hasn't had much experience when it comes to managing at the highest level. Also, he didn't have the best season with Burnley where they only gained 24 points and managed to win only five games out of 38. As a result, they ended up in the 19th place in the Premier League, which was eight points adrift from staying safe.

Burnley has issued a statement explaining that it was previously confident in keeping their manager. However, due to a shift in circumstances, they were ultimately unable to do so.

We acknowledge the appeal and distinguished reputation of a club such as Bayern Munich and honor Vincent's desire to seek out fresh possibilities. We extend our well wishes to Vincent and want to express our gratitude for his hard work and commitment during his time as a member of our football team.

Bayern Munich is counting on the ex-Belgium player to recapture the achievements from his initial year as manager of Burnley when he earned promotion and won the Championship title at Turf Moor.

Kompany, who was once a captain and won the Premier League title with Manchester City four times, decided to embark upon his managerial journey with Anderlecht in 2019 under the guidance of Pep Guardiola's squad.

Kompany is familiar with the Bundesliga as he played for two seasons in Hamburg during his time as a professional player.
