Usher teases Super Bowl halftime show songs and guests

Usher gave a sneak peek into what he plans to showcase during his performance at the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas. He also promised his fans that he will make sure to include his top chart-busters despite the limited time on stage.

During a press conference held by Apple Music on Thursday, the R&B icon recognized that his supporters have been speculating about what songs he might perform.

The 45-year-old Grammy winner stated that there are these fantasy lists circulating, where people are attempting to predict which song she will perform at the beginning, middle, and end.

He said that he focused on being aware of his history, enjoying the current moment while being in Las Vegas, and contemplating the direction we are going in the future. This was the main concept behind his thoughts.

He also showed gratitude for getting the chance to be the lead artist not associated with any record company to feature in the Super Bowl show's halftime event.

"I have to complete it within 13 minutes, which poses a bit of a complexity. It has certainly been an arduous task to summarize 30 years in only 13 minutes," he expressed.

He asked, "Which songs do people identify me with? Which songs have reflected my experiences in life, love, and emotions in my music?"

He hinted at having some noteworthy guests for the show.

He expressed that having featured artists on his songs that became popular records made it simpler for him. This served as his main point of comparison.

He additionally mentioned that supporters will be able to witness the complete procedure of producing the halftime performance, starting from the day he received the invitation until the end of the show.

He mentioned that Apple has been closely monitoring him throughout the entire journey, and they are discussing ways to present their findings to you. A team of documentary filmmakers has been observing and capturing every single moment. We have cameras around us constantly.

Usher's latest album "Coming Home" has been released on Friday, coinciding with the Super Bowl.

After finishing his Las Vegas residency in December, Usher revealed that he will embark on a tour across North America later this year. The tour, titled Usher: Past Present Future, will cover his entire career and begins on August 20th at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. The final stop will be at the United Center in Chicago on October 29th.
