The 27-year-old player ranked fifth was declared the champion of Queen's with a 6-1 7-6 win in just under an hour and a half.

Paul achieved a unique milestone by winning the prestigious pre-Wimbledon event, becoming the first American champion since Sam Querrey in 2010. He now stands alongside legendary compatriots such as John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, and Pete Sampras as former winners of the tournament.

Paul, who defeated Britain's Jack Draper in the quarter-finals, expressed: "This victory holds great significance to me.

Walking through the hallways in the locker room and seeing the names on the wall is truly incredible. It has always been my ambition to have my name displayed next to theirs.

The player ranked at number 13 in the world will also surpass fellow American Taylor Fritz to become the highest ranked player in the United States.

Paul seemed to be in control of the match when he was serving for the win at 5-4 in the second set. However, Italian Musetti made a comeback and broke Paul's serve to stay in the match.

During the tie-break, Musetti managed to save two match points while serving, but Paul was able to secure the win by defeating him on the third match point.

"This past week has been one of the highlights of my career," stated Musetti.

Congratulations to Tommy for his well-deserved victory. I found it challenging to reach his level of skill.

I managed to salvage my reputation a little with the break at the end. I was giving it my all to push for a third set.

Musetti, who welcomed his first child in March, shared: "I want to spend this week focusing on my little son Ludovico. I just want to return home and hold him tight."
