Tommy Fury v Jake Paul: Tale of the tape

Tyson Fury has brushed aside the threat of his brother Tommy being knocked out by Jake Paul in their grudge fight.

Fury is scheduled to fight Paul on February 26 in Saudi Arabia after pulling out of his fight against the brash YouTuber-turned-boxer twice before. The pair were first scheduled to meet in December 2021, but Fury withdrew citing a chest infection and broken rib. A rescheduled clash between the pair last August was also cancelled when visa issues prevented Fury from travelling to the US.

Heavyweight champion Tyson wished Paul the best of luck for the fight whilst gatecrashing a recent interview of his, a moment in which Paul laughed nervously as his life "flashed before his eyes". In a recent chat with iFL TV, Tyson's former opponent Derek Chisora gave details of a chat he had with 'The Gypsy King' about the fight. "We were just talking about family stuff, just hanging out. I told him his brother is going to get knocked out and he goes ‘as long as he’s getting paid’,” Chisora said.

Although Tyson isn't seemingly fazed by the idea of his brother being knocked out, he has even threatened to leave him in Saudi Arabia if he loses to Paul. "I’ll leave Tommy in Saudi Arabia. He can become Cristiano Ronaldo ’s best pal and he can be a PT for Ronaldo in Saudi," he told JOE.

"The two guys are putting it on. They’re both undefeated and whoever loses is pretty much f***ed I'd say, because they have both had a lot to say. It's like me, when you speak a lot of s*** you've got to back it up. That's it, I've been doing this for years, 30 odd times in a row. Now it's time for the big boys to do it. Get it on, I'm really excited for this."

Tyson has made sporadic appearances in the WWE and he jokingly proposed a tag team match between him and Tommy against Paul and his brother Logan in the future, stating: "I'm obviously backing my own brother against Jake and I'm sure his brother will do the same too. I've got an idea: we can do this as a little tag team match. His brother can tag in and I'll tag in and boom!"

Fury has predicted that Paul's boxing career will be over after their fight, adding that he's been facing better fighters than Paul since the age of 14. 'The Problem Child' also criticised the quality of Fury's former opponents, labelling them as "taxi drivers", also insisting the Brit will crack under the pressure of their highly-anticipated grudge fight.
