West Ham in advanced talks to sign Leeds forward Crysencio Summerville

Summerville

West Ham United are having serious discussions about bringing Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville to their team.

Summerville has signed a five-year contract with Summerville and is expected to complete a medical examination before joining the team on their pre-season tour in the United States.

West Ham have high hopes of finalizing an agreement with Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug before he joins Summerville on their trip to the U.S. later this week.

Dortmund turned down an offer for Fullkrug from West Ham worth around €20 million, but discussions are still underway between the two clubs about a potential agreement.

Summerville, a 22-year-old player, was a standout performer for Daniel Farke's team during the previous season. He scored 21 goals and contributed nine assists.

West Ham has already brought in defender Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brazilian young winger Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham during this summer transfer window.

Leeds narrowly missed out on moving up to the Premier League last year when they were defeated 1-0 by Southampton in the promotion play-off final.

Summerville was part of Feyenoord's youth program for 12 years but did not get to play for the first team. Instead, he was loaned out to FC Dordrecht and ADO Den Haag for entire seasons.

The striker then transferred to Elland Road for good in September 2020 and has since scored 25 goals in 89 games for Leeds.

Summerville is the most recent player to leave the club this summer, following midfielder Archie Gray's move to Tottenham Hotspur and defender Joe Rodon's permanent transfer in the opposite direction. Glen Kamara has signed with Rennes and Charlie Cresswell has transferred to Toulouse.

Luis Sinisterra, Marc Roca, Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Luke Ayling and Ian Poveda, who were loaned out from Leeds last season, have now moved on from Elland Road for good.

Summerville is influencing Leeds' season - even in situations where he's not expected to.

Summerville Key To Leeds Promotion

Summerville played a key role in helping Leeds get promoted last season. His outstanding performance earned him the prestigious EFL Championship player of the season award.

The Dutch player thrived while playing in Farke's strategy, positioned on the left side and frequently moving towards the center of the field.

He established a strong bond with Georginio Rutter and the two were very close friends outside of soccer as well. Summerville brought a fun and energetic vibe to the Leeds locker room.

The team will really feel the absence of Summerville's skillful dribbling and impressive performances. During tough periods of last season, Leeds would pass the ball out to him on the wing, hoping for a bit of brilliance. He consistently delivered, showing off his talent on the field.

Summerville has a lot of potential for growth in Summerville, but there are areas of his game that could use some improvement in order for him to reach the top level. Despite this, he has caught the eye of many this season and is likely to be sold for a high price because of his talent and potential.
