State of Origin: New South Wales beat Queensland in fiery decider in Brisbane

State of Origin

New South Wales got two last-minute tries to defeat Queensland 14-4 and clinch a heated State of Origin match in Brisbane, marking their first victory in the city since 2005.

The Blues coach, Michael Maguire, was ecstatic after his team won a series under his leadership for the first time. His team came from behind to win the game, even though they were losing 4-2 until the 61st minute at Lang Park.

Bradman Best found the back of the net following a fantastic line break by Jarome Luai, preventing the possibility of a first tryless Origin game since 1995.

Mitch Moses proceeded to weave through the Maroons' defense and score a second try, much to the delight of the crowd of over 52,000 fans.

On Wednesday, the high-stakes game was intense with a violent fight breaking out in the opening half. Queensland's Jeremiah Nanai and New South Wales' Cam Murray were both given temporary suspensions for their involvement.

Some players, including those not participating in the game, were seen in suits around television screens and chairs that were everywhere.

Valentine Holmes scored two penalties to get all the points for Queensland.
