Sabrina Carpenter's supporters are upset with the American pop singer after finding out how expensive tickets are for her upcoming arena concerts.

Early access tickets for the singer's Short n' Sweet Tour were released on 23 July, but many fans were frustrated by Ticketmaster's website crashing. When the general sale started on Friday (26 July), there were over 50,000 people waiting in a virtual line to purchase tickets.

The singer known as "Espresso" will have several concerts in the UK and Ireland next year. They will perform two nights at the O2 Arena in London, one night in Birmingham, one night in Glasgow, two nights in Manchester, and two nights in Dublin.

When tickets were made available for sale, there was a lot of anger expressed on social media about the high prices. Many people were upset to see that the prices had nearly quadrupled since Carpenter's last tour in the UK in 2023.

One individual shared on X/Twitter that they attempted to purchase Sabrina tickets again but were unsuccessful. They mentioned that there were no tickets available for less than £250, which disappointed them and made them lose interest in attending the event.

"It's very selfish and anyone who agrees to those prices is a total fool."

In the meantime, a different fan who had gone to Carpenter's Emails I Can't Send Tour in 2023 was surprised by the high ticket prices. They said, "I love Sabrina but paying £94.20 for a standing ticket is a lot compared to the £24.50 I paid for one last year. What's going on?"

Another unhappy fan commented: "I can't believe they're charging £240 for Sabrina Carpenter tickets, that's crazy lol. She's talented but she's only had two popular songs. I only paid half that for Taylor Swift tickets and even then I thought it was expensive. At least with Taylor Swift, you get a three hour show with 18 years worth of hit songs."

In other places, someone else described the cost as "shockingly high" while others said the ticket price was "outrageous" and pointed out that Carpenter's seats in the far back were actually pricier than the premium seats for Beyoncé's upcoming 2023 Renaissance World Tour at the venue.

The Independent has reached out to Carpenter's representatives for a statement.

Billie Eilish received backlash before for charging £145 for standing tickets to her 2025 Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour, leaving fans shocked.

A fan, who chose not to share their identity, shared with The Independent that purchasing tickets for concerts can sometimes feel like a fierce competition online, as fans may feel forced to pay high prices or risk not being able to attend.

Musicians and companies that sell tickets understand that their loyal supporters are willing to spend a significant amount of money to attend concerts. The level of dedication from these fans is increasing, making the situation even more concerning. When will this trend become excessive? It seems like we are nearing that point.
