Acting head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has announced his Manchester United lineup for the upcoming Carabao Cup clash against Leicester City in the fourth round.
The Reds are aiming to secure a spot in the quarter-final draw happening later tonight.
After manager Erik ten Hag's exit, the iconic striker van Nistelrooy has stepped in to lead the team, and the fans at Old Trafford are sure to give him a warm welcome.
Recently, there have been some uncertainties regarding player positions. Lisandro Martinez might begin the game at left back to make room for Victor Lindelof. Additionally, it's unclear which wings Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho will play on.
Altay Bayindir has another opportunity to showcase his skills in goal since Andre Onana is not in the lineup. Christian Eriksen, who has been performing well, is also absent, but Noussair Mazraoui, who had to leave the match against West Ham United due to injury, has made it onto the substitutes' bench.
Jayce Fitzgerald, a young midfielder who is set to play in the senior team for the first time, is among three Academy alumni who might have their debut in the first team, along with Harry Amass and Jack Fletcher.
United's lineup includes: Bayindir; Dalot, De Ligt, Lindelof, Martinez; Ugarte, Casemiro; Rashford, Fernandes (captain), Garnacho; Zirkzee.
Alternates: Heaton, Amass, Evans, Mazraoui, Fitzgerald, J. Fletcher, Amad, Hojlund, Wheatley.
Leicester's lineup includes: Ward in goal; a defense made up of Justin, Coady, Okoli, and Thomas; Soumare and Skipp in midfield; with McAteer, El Khannouss, and De Cordova-Reid supporting Ayew up front.
Alternates: Iversen, Pereira, Vestergaard, Alves, Ndidi, Winks, Buonanotte, Mavididi, Edouard.
