Rosemary Burns, who was married to the late Celtic player and manager Tommy Burns, passed away at 69 years old.

She died after getting sick on a flight back from a vacation in Tenerife, causing the plane to be redirected to Cork.

Rosemary was a beloved member of the Celtic community.

Originally from Glasgow, Rosemary crossed paths with Tommy Burns in the 1970s.

After Tommy passed away in 2008 from melanoma, Rosemary remained involved with the club.

Many people have been sending their respects to Rosemary, including Celtic.

A message from the club said: "We are all deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Rosemary Burns, the wife of Celtic icon Tommy Burns."

"The club and all of us at Celtic are thinking of and sending our prayers to their children, Emma, Jenna, Michael, and Jonathan during this very sad time."

Chairman Peter Lawwell also said: "It's truly heartbreaking news."

Everyone knew Rosemary as a caring spouse to Tommy, as well as a affectionate mother and grandmother. Our condolences are with Emma, Jenna, Michael, and Jonathan, her grandchildren, as well as with Rosemary's extended family and numerous friends who will all be deeply saddened during this difficult period.
