Princess of Wales's first royal event since undergoing surgery confirmed by Ministry of Defence
According to the Ministry of Defence, the Princess of Wales is scheduled to participate in Trooping the Colour on June 8th. This will be her first official responsibility since her surgery.
The queen-to-be, who is 42 years old, has not been spotted performing her official duties since the end of December. During that time, she was captured walking alongside other members of the Royal Family in Sandringham, Norfolk, on Christmas Day.
On January 16th, she went into the London Clinic, a hospital for private use. The King received medical care there for a prostate enlargement. She went in for an operation on her abdomen that was planned.
The royal residence stated earlier that the princess would not resume her public responsibilities until the Easter season concluded, therefore it remains unclear whether or not the Trooping the Colour event will be her initial formal appearance after the surgery.
According to information found on the event's official webpage, Trooping the Colour will take place three times this summer. The first session will be reviewed by Maj Gen Bowder on June 1st, the second by the Princess of Wales on June 8th, and the third by King Charles on June 15th.
Around 1,400 soldiers from the Household Division and The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery are set to march on Horse Guards Parade for a review that the princess may or may not attend, as Kensington Palace has not yet confirmed her presence.
