Catherine, Princess of Wales, attending Wimbledon men’s singles final

The Princess of Wales is going to the Wimbledon men's final with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, in her second public appearance since sharing her cancer diagnosis.

Catherine, a supporter of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, will hand over the trophy to the victor of the match between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

She got to the tournament in SW19 with less than an hour to spare before the final was set to start on Sunday afternoon.

The princess has been receiving cancer treatment and made her first public outing since sharing her diagnosis in March. She attended the trooping the colour ceremony in London last month.

She was absent from the women's singles final on Saturday, so the Wimbledon chair, Debbie Jevans, handed the trophy to Barbora Krejčíková in her place.

Famous actors Tom Cruise, Zendaya, and Hugh Jackman were spotted on Centre Court watching as the Czech player defeated Jasmine Paolini from Italy in a close match, with a final score of 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

In the past stages of the competition, Catherine showed her admiration for Sir Andy Murray, who has won the Wimbledon men's singles title twice. She expressed that he should feel a strong sense of pride, even though he missed out on a final opportunity in the tournament.

In a message that the princess personally signed on social media, she wrote: "Andy Murray, you should feel very proud of your amazing #Wimbledon career which has just ended. Thank you from all of us!"

Muray was set to compete in mixed doubles with Emma Raducanu but the former US Open women's singles champion withdrew from the match, stating that her right wrist was feeling stiff.

Catherine went to the championships many times last year and gave Alcaraz his first Wimbledon trophy after seeing him compete against Djokovic in the men's singles final.

Last Friday, she couldn't attend a charity polo event because her husband, the Prince of Wales, participated in the match to raise money for good causes at Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park.

Last month, the princess shared an update saying that she was getting better, but still facing challenges and experiencing fluctuations in her health as she received ongoing treatment.

Prince William is scheduled to be in Berlin on Sunday to watch England play against Spain in the Euro 2024 final. He will be representing the Football Association as its president.

A few people watching the Wimbledon matches on Sunday morning were spotted wearing white England soccer jerseys.
