A judge in New York has denied bail for music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs and has ordered that he be taken to jail as he waits for his trial on charges related to sex trafficking.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs will stay in jail until his trial for charges related to sex trafficking starts.

Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky upheld the ruling following an extensive discussion among the legal teams on Tuesday.

Prosecutors claimed that Combs' vast fortune, estimated to be around $1 billion, along with his significant influence, renders him "very dangerous to the community."

Combs was refused bail despite proposing a $50 million bond.

Combs was taken into custody late Monday in Manhattan, about six months after federal agents, who were looking into a sex trafficking case, searched his residences in Los Angeles and Miami.

In the last year, Combs has faced legal action from individuals who allege that he has committed physical or sexual abuse against them.

His former girlfriend and singer Cassie is one of several women who have come forward with allegations against him.

He has rejected several of those claims, and his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, stated outside the courtroom that Combs intends to plead not guilty and that he will "fight vigorously" to secure his client's release from detention.

Regarding Combs, Agnifilo mentioned, "He feels positive and is very self-assured."

At 54 years old, Combs was acknowledged as a key player in the music industry. However, a wave of accusations that surfaced over the last year has led to him being shunned by the industry.

He established Bad Boy Records and is recognized for playing a key role in elevating artists like Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Notorious B.I.G., and Usher to stardom in the realms of rap and R&B.

Recognized as P. Diddy and Puff Daddy, he was a prominent figure in the hip-hop scene during the 1990s and 2000s.

In November, his ex-girlfriend, R&B artist Cassie (whose real name is Casandra Ventura), launched a lawsuit claiming that he had abused and assaulted her for an extended period.

She claimed that Combs pressured her and others into having sex they didn't want in situations involving drugs.

The case was resolved in just a day, but several months afterward, CNN broadcasted surveillance footage from the hotel that revealed Combs hitting and kicking Cassie, as well as forcefully throwing her to the ground.

Following the release of the video, Combs expressed his regret, stating, "I was repulsed when I went through with it."

Nonetheless, Combs and his legal team refuted similar claims put forward by others in a series of lawsuits.

Douglas Wigdor, Cassie's attorney, stated on Tuesday that "Ms. Ventura and I have no remarks to make."

"We're grateful for your patience, and if there are any updates, we'll be sure to keep you informed," he said.

A music producer filed a lawsuit, claiming that Combs compelled him to engage in sexual acts with sex workers.

Another woman, April Lampros, reported that Combs put her through "frightening sexual experiences," beginning when she was a college student in 1994.

The AP usually doesn't identify individuals who claim to have experienced sexual abuse unless they choose to share their stories openly, as Cassie and Lampros have done.

Combs has previously managed to resolve legal issues.

In 2001, he was found not guilty of involvement in a shooting at a Manhattan nightclub that occurred two years prior and resulted in injuries to three individuals.

Shyne, who was once his disciple, was found guilty of assault and various other offenses, resulting in him spending nearly eight years behind bars.
