Simone Biles gets BLOCKED by MyKayla Skinner as their bitter Olympics gymnastics feud escalates
Simone Biles has been banned from following former USA Gymnastics teammate MyKayla Skinner on social media due to their growing online conflict.
Problems started between the two when Skinner criticized the Olympic roster of USA Gymnastics before the current games. In a video on YouTube that has since been deleted, she expressed that apart from Simone, the other girls don't have the same level of dedication or skills.
After winning the gold medal with her team at the Paris Olympics, Biles responded to Skinner on Instagram by saying she lacks talent and is lazy compared to Olympic champions.
Later, Biles indirectly mentioned that she can no longer see Skinner's posts on social media by saying, 'Oops, looks like I've been blocked.'
In case there was any uncertainty, Biles' teammate Jordan Chiles recently posted a picture online of Skinner's Instagram page showing no content on a cellphone. In order to make it clear, Chiles included a caption saying, "When she blocks Simone."

Simone Biles seems to have upset her ex-teammate MyKayla Skinner.
Biles' teammate, Jordan Chiles, posted a picture on social media of Skinner's Instagram page, which appeared to be empty.
Biles is not the only current or former Team USA member making jokes about Skinner after her gold medal win on Tuesday. Another well-known gymnast, McKayla Maroney, has also joined in on the playful banter.
"This is as iconic as it gets," Maroney posted on Instagram in reply to Biles' post. "[Skinner] messed around and found out."
Maroney made a playful comment about having the same name as Skinner.
I feel like I have to say sorry just to make up for my reputation.
Skinner, who earned a silver medal on the vault at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has faced criticism for her remarks about her ex-teammates.
On YouTube, the 27-year-old expressed that, other than Simone, they don't believe the level of talent and competitiveness is the same as before.
Skinner went on to say that the girls lack the motivation to work hard, and then mentioned the US Center for SafeSport, a non-profit group that aims to prevent abuse of athletes in US Olympic sports.
"It's also difficult because of SafeSport. For example, coaches are not allowed to criticize athletes and must be very cautious with their words," Skinner explained.
In one way, it is quite beneficial. However, to excel in gymnastics, you must also possess a certain level of assertiveness and determination.
Afterwards, Biles responded to Skinner on Threads, saying that not everyone requires a microphone and a platform.
Suni Lee, Simone Biles, and Hezly Rivera were thrilled as they stood together, celebrating their victory and the gold medal they had just won.
Simone Biles posted a message with hidden criticism towards a former member of Team USA.
Maroney laughed and said she feels like she should say sorry just for having the same first name as Skinner.
Skinner would eventually express regret.
I am sorry to Team USA and the gymnastics community for the things I said in my YouTube videos about the gymnastics Olympic trials. I didn't mean to hurt or disrespect any of the athletes or diminish their efforts. Skinner apologized on July 6.
She went on to say, "After thinking about it, I was contrasting the time when Marta Karolyi was in charge with the current situation."
I realize that I have not fully worked through the emotional and verbal mistreatment I experienced from Marta, which may have influenced my hurtful remarks. I acknowledge my actions and offer a sincere apology.
Skinner ended her apology by expressing her support for the gymnasts in Paris and letting them know she would be rooting for them.
Biles and Skinner both competed for Team USA in several events, including the 2020 Olympics.
