A mission to find and save someone is currently taking place. This involves the use of a flying machine called a drone as well as a special dog trained to help police officers. Together, they are searching areas that are difficult to reach.

According to the deputy mayor of Symi who spoke to BBC News, a helicopter is en route from Athens to provide assistance.

According to the Greek Police, Dr. Mosley deserted his spouse on the seaside and commenced a trek towards the island's heart on Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson from the police, BBC News reported that his mobile device was discovered at the location where he and his wife were lodging, and his wife informed the authorities that he was missing.

Firefighters, volunteers, and law enforcement officials are currently on the hunt for him, aided by a police dog and a drone sent to assist with the search.

The Pedi region of Symi is currently the main target of the rescue mission, according to Ilias Chaskas, the deputy mayor of the island, who briefed BBC News. This is due to a woman's sighting of the individual there on Wednesday.

He mentioned that the region is considered precarious, but noted that Dr Mosley was seen on a street in a secure area of it.

Someone posted a message in a Facebook group in the area announcing that a man by the name of Dr. Mosley was nowhere to be found. The post included a picture of him that was taken recently, showing him wearing a blue cap, a polo shirt, and shorts.

"Did you observe this individual? He started his journey on foot from [Agios Nikolaos beach] around 1:30 PM and never returned to his residence," the statement indicated.

Symi belongs to the cluster of islands called Dodecanese in Greece and was inhabited by 2,590 people as of 2011.
