This year's match was a replay of the semi-final from last year, where the Spaniard emerged victorious without much difficulty. However, this time Medvedev put up a stronger fight, but Alcaraz ultimately secured a 6-7 (1) 6-3 6-4 6-4 win.

The 21-year-old player will compete in his fourth big final match, the second one in a row after winning the French Open last month. It might be a rematch of last year's final, where Alcaraz impressively beat Novak Djokovic in five sets.

Medvedev should feel pleased with his performance, especially his quarter-final win against a struggling Jannik Sinner. However, he was lucky to not be disqualified in the first set.

Following the umpire's call that Medvedev did not reach a drop shot from Alcaraz before it hit the ground twice, leading to a loss of serve for Medvedev, he responded angrily with what seemed like a profanity-laden outburst towards the referee, Eva Asderaki.

Asderaki stood up from her seat and approached the referee and supervisor – something that rarely happens – before ultimately deciding to only give Medvedev a warning for his unsportsmanlike behavior.

When asked on Tuesday about what made Alcaraz a tough competitor, Medvedev, who was able to defeat the Spaniard in the US Open last year, pointed out his skill in hitting winning shots from all areas of the court.

In the first game, there were many instances of this happening. Medvedev barely managed to keep his serve, but Alcaraz also had some highs and lows during this Wimbledon. This was evident in the way the first set unfolded.

Medvedev, who is familiar for spending time near the line judges, had altered his strategy by not only maintaining a more assertive stance but also approaching the net more frequently and unexpectedly.

Even though he didn't always win, his attempts made Alcaraz wonder about his lack of skill in hitting the ball accurately, as he frequently made mistakes on routine shots.

Many of them caused Medvedev to lose in the fourth game. Alcaraz quickly responded but ended up losing the game again, this time because his favorite drop shot failed him.

Medvedev was in control with a 5-3 lead in the set, but his mistake could result in a significant fine.

However, it was the Russian player who took control of the tie-break, securing the first five points and closing it out with a 121 miles per hour second serve.

Alcaraz got motivated in the third game of the second set after winning an amazing rally to keep his serve. He then gestured to the crowd to make more noise by putting his finger to his ear.

Then the third-ranked player charged towards his opponent's side of the court, which happened to have Real Madrid's Luka Modric in it. Soon after, he made an impressive forehand shot that went across the court, earning him the break for a score of 3-1.

Medvedev's online activities were becoming more daring and less frequent, as he focused on withstanding the constant pressure from the opposing side.

Alcaraz discovered his magical playing style, impressing the audience with his strong groundstrokes and skillful drop shots that caught Medvedev off guard.

In the beginning of the third set, he took the lead and when he didn't agree with Asderaki's decision, he simply gestured with his finger towards her.

Alcaraz still had some strangely relaxed moments during the match, such as missing an easy shot and reacting comically by holding his head in his hands. He also played carelessly in a game, allowing Medvedev to break back at the start of the fourth set.

However, there were only a few mistakes made, and he secured the win after playing for two hours and 55 minutes when Medvedev's last forehand went out of bounds.
