On Tuesday night, Ella Toone, the seventh player of Manchester United Women's team, managed to reach her 50th international cap. This was achieved through England's triumphant 2-1 win against France at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, which is located in Saint-Etienne.

Sarina Wiegman's team had a lot to lose in the game, as they had just suffered a defeat against the same team at St. James' Park.

During the Tuesday game, the female players of the English soccer team known as the Lionesses managed to score two goals in the initial half. These goals were carried out by Georgia Stanway and Alessia Russo. Kadidiatou Diani managed to pull the game for the home team through a penalty in the 72nd minute.

The England jersey of Ella Toone can be seen inside the changing room of Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Toone was picked to start and had a significant contribution to the attack. However, she was replaced by Fran Kirby after playing for 71 minutes. Toone now shares her achievement with her fellow team member, Mary Earps, for earning 50 caps for England. Mary Earps accomplished this milestone during the recent match against France.

Ella expressed her excitement and gratitude on her verified Instagram account, stating, "I am truly humbled. Reaching 50 appearances for my national team is a remarkable achievement."

"I want to express my gratitude to those who have accompanied me on this journey. Without your support, I wouldn't have been able to achieve this."

Toone was selected for the first time in September 2020 and has now become a dependable player for the Lionesses. This can be attributed to her accomplishments while playing for United under Marc Skinner's leadership.

Ella has had an impressive season, achieving the feat of being the first player to hit the 50-goal milestone for United Women. Additionally, she played a vital role in the team's conquest of the FA Cup. Now, she has an opportunity to represent her country as well.

Millie Turner and Maya Le Tissier had a pleasant time when they got to meet their fellow team-mate Melvine Malard in her home country of France.

Regrettably, Earps did not attend Ella's significant game in France due to a hip injury that forced her to withdraw during the initial match in the North East. However, Earps affirmed that her recovery period is estimated to be only a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, three other players on the Red team - Maya Le Tissier, Millie Turner, and Grace Clinton - were on the bench as substitutes for England but did not actually play in the game.

It's currently 6 PM on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024.
