Beyond his athletic career, Linford has fathered eight children, and some of his nieces and nephews have risen to fame as models or athletes.
The 64-year-old sportsman has eight children. His oldest son, Merrick, was born to his ex-girlfriend Judith Osborne. He has twin sons, Liam and Korel, with his ex-partner Yvonne Oliver, and three children with his current girlfriend Mandy Miller: Briannah, a son, and a daughter whose names have not been revealed. Linford also has two sons with Letitia Rathbone, but their names are not known to the public.
Merrick, aged 45, has taken after his father's active lifestyle and is now working as a personal trainer and nutritionist at the Frogmore Leisure Centre in Yateley, Hampshire.
Korel, aged 39, has largely stayed away from the public eye, while Linford's son Liam, also 39, gained attention in 2012 when he was sentenced to four years in prison for trafficking drugs such as heroin and cocaine.
Briannah, who is 26 years old, has chosen a different path than her father. As stated in her LinkedIn profile, she is in her last year of studying law and is passionate about social justice. Briannah shares a strong bond with her father and is featured in a BBC documentary that explores his professional life and subsequent downfall.
In a video, she cries as she says: "Linford has trouble seeing the positive side of his actions. Maybe I'll bring out his medals and place them around the house to show him there were good moments. I believe he should feel proud of his accomplishments."
Linford hails from a large family with seven members, so it's no wonder that some of his relatives have also found success in the spotlight. His nieces and nephews have made a name for themselves in the world of modeling and sports, making their mark on the industry.
The athlete's relative, Rachel Christie, first pursued a career in track and field, with her uncle guiding her as her coach. However, she later transitioned to participating in beauty contests. Rachel's most notable accomplishment came in 2009 when she became the first Black woman to win the title of Miss England.
Yet, after a disagreement with Miss Manchester at a club, she gave up her title, even though the police didn't charge her. Rachel returned to the public eye when she took part in the first season of the new Love Island, but she was kicked out after being in the villa for 11 days.
Linford is also the relative of another famous reality TV personality, Joshua R. Christie, who appeared on the 2019 edition of Shipwrecked. When he was younger, Joshua showed promise as a rugby player and represented Jamaica in the 7s tournament.
Linford has a talented nephew who is a professional football player named Omari Patrick. He is currently playing for Sutton United and has also been on teams like Carlisle United and Bradford City in the past.
