Stourbridge's Jude Bellingham heaps praise on England boss Gareth Southgate after heartbreak

Southgate did not comment on what will happen next as he finished speaking to the media after the 2-1 defeat in Berlin.

"I don't believe it's the right moment to make a decision like that," he said to ITV Sport right after the game ended.

The 52-year-old has guided England to two European Championship finals but fell short against Spain and Italy. Three years ago, Italy won on penalties at Wembley.

Even though it is uncertain what the future holds for Southgate, Bellingham commended the England boss for his leadership skills and expressed confidence that he will make the correct decision.

"I think it really depends on the manager and whatever decision the FA makes," he expressed.

I have a lot of admiration for Gareth for giving me my first opportunity to be in the squad. He made me feel comfortable and welcomed.

I believe that over the past year or two, our connection has evolved into more than just a football relationship. I feel comfortable opening up to him, which shows what a great person he is.

He added: "No matter what Gareth decides to do, I will always have admiration for him. If he chooses to stay, it will only fuel my determination to win something for him, as he truly deserves it."

At times, you can't argue with the facts and figures. The data clearly shows that he has been the best manager we've had since 1966. No matter what choices he makes, he will always have my admiration and affection.

Bellingham set up Cole Palmer to score for England and tie the game after Nico Willams scored first for Spain. Bellingham had some good moments and some tough moments during the tournament in Germany.

He got the only goal in the first win against Serbia and then scored an amazing overhead kick in the last moments of the game to force extra time in the last-16 match against Slovakia.

However, there were moments when the soccer player from Real Madrid appeared fatigued, despite being named the Player of the Season in La Liga for winning both the title and the Champions League.

"I feel like we gave up a lot in the past few weeks," he stated.

It can be challenging to balance hectic schedules and prepare for a final tournament at the end of the season. The physical toll it takes on the body can be demanding.

Emotionally and physically drained, we put our all into representing our country, only to suffer a heartbreaking loss. It feels like a particularly harsh blow.

Bellingham emphasized that England must find some good things to focus on after the "devastating" defeat in order to finally win their first major men's trophy in 58 years.

"We all hoped to create a historic moment and to make the people of England happy, but unfortunately, we fell short," said the 21-year-old.

There are explanations for that, and I am confident that as a team, we will examine it further. However, I believe our group is still relatively young. It is truly disheartening because we must eventually perform, but we can learn from the experiences gained in this tournament.

If we focus only on the bad things, nothing will improve. That's why we need to consider both the good and the bad aspects and work towards achieving success for England.

I came here with the intention of winning. Our goal was to come out on top. As I mentioned, we gained valuable experiences that will help us in the future. So I guess you could say that's a bit comforting.

This situation might require some extra time to fully understand and evaluate. As a group, we will examine it closely, reflect individually on the outcome, and come back stronger.

The team is quite young and has a lot of promise. I understand that some may be disappointed with our lack of results so far, but I truly believe that success is on the horizon.
