Joe Root Moves To 8th All-time Test Cricket Run Scorers, Still Behind Sachin Tendulkar

Joe Root has now climbed to eighth place on the list of the most successful Test cricket batsmen of all time, surpassing Shivnarine Chanderpaul on Sunday.
Root surpassed Chanderpaul's career total of 11,869 runs shortly after reaching his 94th Test half-century for England.
The man from Yorkshire, aged 33, went on to score his 32nd Test century, before eventually getting out with a total of 122 runs.
Root's recent impressive performance was against Chanderpaul's former team when England gave the West Indies a target of 385 runs to win the second Test at Trent Bridge.
Chanderpaul made 11,867 runs in 280 Test matches from 1994 to 2015.
Joe Root has advanced to the eighth position on the list of top run scorers in Test cricket.
Root was praised by Harry Brook for scoring fifty runs against the West Indies.

In the latest match on Sunday, Root batted for the 260th time in Test cricket and added an impressive 11,940 runs to his career total.

Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar is likely to maintain his position at the top for a considerable amount of time, considering his impressive total of 15,921 runs.
Root's ascent to eighth place resulted in West Indies icon Shivnarine Chanderpaul falling to ninth.
Sachin Tendulkar is still the leading scorer in Test matches for India, with a total of 15,921 runs.
Root is the sole participant in the top 10 who is still competing.
Steve Smith of Australia, who is also competing in the game, is currently ranked 15th with a total of 9,685 runs.
