Jeremy Hunt, who holds the position of Chancellor of the Exchequer, has successfully secured his place in the newly formed Godalming and Ash constituency.

He was able to secure the position with only 800 votes, and following closely behind Mr. Hunt was the Liberal Democrat candidate Paul Follows.

Jeremy Hunt has been the Member of Parliament for South West Surrey since 2004, but due to boundary changes this year, he will no longer represent the area.

Several members of the cabinet have been defeated - as the Labour party gets closer to winning by a large margin in the general election.

The defence secretary, education secretary, and justice secretary were not re-elected to Parliament.

However, Jonathan Ashworth, the shadow paymaster general for the Labour party, was defeated by an independent candidate in the election.

They have also lost the area of Islington North, where Jeremy Corbyn is now representing as an independent candidate.

Nigel Farage finally won a seat in Parliament after trying seven times before.

The Reform leader has won the election in Clacton, which is one of the three areas that have supported his party.

The Liberal Democrats have also achieved several victories in other areas, such as Cheltenham, Cheadle, Eastbourne, and Stratford-on-Avon.
