The atmosphere is bad because of Newcastle United season ticket holders, no one else
I've held a season ticket for Newcastle United for 22 years.
In addition to being a frequent visitor to St James' Park, I've also attended more than 200 away matches throughout the years.
One thing that’s truly disappointing is the absence of support and the atmosphere from our local fans.
People are heading out after just 30 minutes for a drink and taking 80 minutes to avoid the lines at the pub, instead of sticking around to cheer for the players or show support for the team when it counts.
It appears that the home crowd is turning into more of an observer rather than a true "supporter." The enthusiasm for rallying behind the team and singing is dwindling with each passing week.
While thousands of fans are kept outside, it appears that many inside aren't really interested or might claim that those outside are just casual visitors or tourists.
However, the overwhelming majority, around 31,000, are fans with season tickets for Newcastle United.
The negative atmosphere is solely due to the season ticket holders of Newcastle United, and no one else is to blame.
There has never been a greater demand for more secure standing areas and for gathering fans who share similar views.
This could involve fans urging the club to create a dedicated standing area, or relocating similar supporters closer to the away fans instead of placing a family section in that spot.
Action needs to be taken.
I would genuinely welcome a new stadium at this time, as it could provide a space for fans who want their voices to be heard.
Other teams have fully standing sections, so there’s really no reason we shouldn't be able to do the same.
If you prefer not to stand or be in an area where standing is required, please consider moving to a different spot. Keep in mind that this is ultimately about supporting Newcastle United, not just your personal comfort.
I would love to know what other fans think about this.
