Jenna Coleman admitted that her behavior on set of her latest project, where she shouted and acted confrontational, made people uncomfortable.

The ex-Doctor Who actor, aged 38, is featured in the new BBC crime series The Jetty as a police investigator named Ember. She talks to residents in her town about their views on relationships between older men and young girls at her daughter's school.

Coleman mentioned that while she was performing her role, she observed that shooting scenes where she shouted in anger made the other actors and crew members feel visibly uneasy on the set.

Talking to the i paper, Coleman remembered: "Even though I was performing and there were cameras present, I could sense the tension increasing."

The actress from The Cry went on to say: "When a woman is yelling, laughing, and letting go of control while speaking honest truths that make people uncomfortable, why does it bother them so much? It's something to think about, isn't it?"

"Are we simply supposed to be nicer, more inclined to conform to social expectations?" she inquired.

Coleman acknowledged that while her character Jetty is fearless when it comes to confrontation, she prefers a more careful and deliberate approach to resolving disagreements.

"If I were to lead people like Ember does on the show, I would likely have a deep discussion with myself beforehand. I would reflect on how to effectively express both perspectives in a calm manner," she explained.

"Then I would feel frustrated later on if I sensed that I hadn't been able to communicate effectively."

Nevertheless, the Victoria actor expressed her opinion that feeling angry can be beneficial for individuals. She stated that it is important for everyone to experience anger, as holding in emotions can hinder personal growth and progress.
