In a great relief for Pep Guardiola, Erling Haaland is all geared up to make a comeback for Manchester City in the game against Burnley.

Since the beginning of December, the Norwegian footballer has not been able to play due to a foot injury. However, Guardiola has confirmed that he is set to return to the field on Wednesday evening at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola has a complete roster to choose from as both John Stones and Manuel Akanji are also available to play due to good fitness levels.

Guardiola stated that Haaland is set to be picked and this marks his initial return.

"We consider Erling a key player in our team. Although he has been absent for two months, he reports feeling well. We have a training session scheduled for today, but it seems like he will be able to join us tomorrow."

Our team is currently free of any injuries, which is great news. Manuel Akanji has returned to training and is performing well without any knee discomfort. John Stones is also in good health and back on the pitch. This is a positive development for our team.

"The crucial part of the season is commencing soon. The FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League are all upcoming events and it is vital that we have all our players able to participate."

Erling Haaland is ready to play against Burnley.

Haaland still holds the position of being the league's leading scorer this season by scoring three goals in his debut season for Manchester City.

The team led by Guardiola is currently trailing behind the league leaders, Liverpool, by five points. Liverpool will be playing against Chelsea on Wednesday night. However, Manchester City has an extra match that they have not played yet compared to their rivals.

Despite Julian Alvarez's competent performance as a replacement for Haaland as the central striker, Guardiola suggested that the original centre forward might promptly come back to the starting lineup.

When discussing the potential for Haaland to make a return, the manager of Manchester City referred to the process taken for Kevin de Bruyne's return in January. The manager noted that de Bruyne's absence was due to a muscular issue that required surgery, which made his rehabilitation quite distinct from Haaland's potential return.

"Erling's situation was challenging and required a unique approach. We proceeded cautiously, taking things one step at a time."
