Man City's Haaland misses Luton clash with foot injury

Erling Haaland won't be able to participate in Manchester City's upcoming match against Luton in the Premier League on Sunday, as he's currently dealing with a foot injury. This could also potentially affect his availability for the reigning champions' busy schedule during the Christmas period.

The manager of the city football club, Pep Guardiola, mentioned that Haaland became aware of his injury following the team's loss against Aston Villa on Wednesday.

It's a significant disappointment for City that the Norwegian forward won't be joining them on their trip to Kenilworth Road, especially as they're aiming to stay on par with Liverpool, who currently hold the top spot in the rankings.

Last season, Haaland made history in the Premier League by breaking the record for most goals scored in a single season. In the current campaign, he has already found the back of the net 19 times.

Guardiola will be concerned about Haaland's health as City prepares to go to Saudi Arabia for the FIFA Club World Cup and then come back for the jam-packed holiday season.

After the previous game, he experienced discomfort in his foot due to a bone stress reaction, which has made him unable to participate in today's match," stated Guardiola moments before the start of the match against Luton.

I am unsure about how long the injury will last. We will have to monitor it on a weekly and daily basis to see how it progresses.

We always have 11 players in the match. Erling has been very significant since he joined the team. However, during the season, various difficulties, such as injuries, suspensions, and issues, arise, and we need to adjust to the situation.
