This coming Sunday (November 19th), some will be joyous while others will be sad as general admission tickets for the 2024 Glastonbury Festival become available for purchase.

Around two and a half million individuals vied for 210,000 tickets last year.

At the moment, there are no officially confirmed main acts, but Emily Eavis, the organizer, has suggested that a "very prominent American musician" will be included among them.

The Independent has created a helpful manual that provides advice and techniques for increasing your chances of obtaining tickets; yet, if you are among the many who were unsuccessful in securing one, there are alternative methods to gain entry to Glastonbury - and no, we are not referring to trespassing.

On the website of Glastonbury, there's a specific area designated for the opportunities available to gain a festival pass in exchange for work.

Sometimes you might have to purchase your ticket beforehand, but you will receive a refund after you finish the hours you need to complete.

On the fourth day of the Glastonbury Festival in 2023, Lewis Capaldi put on a show on the Pyramid Stage that had the crowd singing along with him.

Each year, many different groups seek volunteers to participate in their festival, in exchange for complimentary admission. Usually, volunteers must complete three shifts, each lasting eight hours, in order to receive their ticket. However, this stipulation might change depending on the specific group.

Every time, Oxfam recruits a team of 2000 volunteers to work at the festival. The volunteers are assigned various tasks like being stewards, doing campaigns, and assisting in charity shops on-site. In addition to admission, the package also includes camping facilities, a food coupon for every shift, hot showers, toilets, hot beverages, and charging ports for mobiles.

Festaff also hires a group of individuals who offer their services for free at Glastonbury (in addition to other festivals run by the company).

As indicated on their webpage, Festaff roles primarily entail collaborating with a group of individuals who share similar interests and performing simple and pleasurable duties such as monitoring activities at the camping grounds, distributing wristbands, or scanning ticket entrances at the venue. Volunteers can also work as bar staff, offer assistance at the campsite information center, or perform other related tasks.

Each year, Dr. Chris Howes guides a group of around 1,500 healthcare professionals to the festival. If you possess qualifications in medical aid, paramedics, or first-aid, you can register to become a part of his team.

Note that being accepted to join Festival Medical Services does not guarantee selection to work at Glastonbury, according to the website.

To obtain access for clinical purposes, it is necessary to provide evidence of qualifications, a photograph in passport style and a credit or debit card to cover a £25 non-refundable fee for a three-year membership.

Regular entry tickets will be available for purchase starting at 9 o'clock in the morning Greenwich Mean Time on the 19th of November, Sunday.

In order to attend, you'll need to purchase a ticket for £355, along with a £5 fee for booking. During the month of November, you'll need to pay a £75 deposit (plus an additional fee if you choose to include coach travel with your ticket). The remaining balance will then be due during the first week of April in 2024.

You can only purchase tickets through glastonbury.seetickets.com.
