Glastonbury Festival 2025 tickets set to go on sale
Eager fans expressed their enthusiasm and eagerness on social media Saturday night as they geared up to snag tickets.
Sylvia Marks posted on X: "I've set my alarm! Wishing everyone the best of luck. All we can do is hope for the best and give it our all... but honestly, I'm a bit anxious about it too."
“Wishing everyone the best of luck for the Glastonbury ticket sale in the morning,” David Wilkie shared. “I hope it’s incredible for all who manage to snag some tomorrow.”
The shift happened after attention was drawn to several problems in the online ticket selling industry, such as dynamic pricing and the resale of tickets by scalpers.
The issue gained attention when Oasis tickets went on sale in September, leading the Government and the UK's competition authority to promise they would investigate the practice of price increases driven by demand.
To curb ticket reselling, Glastonbury attendees must register ahead of time to purchase tickets for the festival, scheduled to be held at Worthy Farm in Somerset from June 25 to 29 next year.
Tickets for Glastonbury 2025 are priced at £373.50, along with a £5 booking fee. This marks an increase of £18.50 compared to the 2024 ticket price of £355 plus the same £5 booking fee.
The initial batch of tickets for this year's festival, specifically the coach tickets, became available for purchase at 6 PM on Thursday and were completely sold out within half an hour, according to the event organizers.
Last year, coach tickets were snapped up in just 25 minutes, and all the regular tickets were sold out within an hour after they became available.
Getting tickets for Glastonbury is famously challenging. In 2019, 2.5 million people signed up to buy tickets, but only 143,000 were actually offered. Last year, all of the tickets were gone in less than an hour.
Emily Eavis, the organizer of the festival, has mentioned that 2026 will be a year without Glastonbury to give the land a chance to breathe and rejuvenate. However, she is already in discussions with performers about headlining in 2025.
At the 2024 festival, it was the first time the Pyramid Stage showcased two female headliners, with Dua Lipa performing on Friday and SZA taking the stage on Sunday.
On Saturday, Coldplay set a new record by becoming the first band to headline the festival five times.
