Fred Sirieix expressed his overwhelming sense of pride and joy after his daughter achieved a bronze medal in the women's synchronized 10m platform dive at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

19-year-old Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and her 24-year-old teammate Lois Toulson stood on the winners' platform at the Aquatics Centre on Wednesday, July 31.

The 52-year-old star from the show First Dates was spotted in the audience applauding enthusiastically as the two divers from Britain received their bronze medals.

After the event, Sirieix went on social media to celebrate his daughter's and Toulson's accomplishments by raising a glass of Champagne.

"This feeling is absolutely stunning," he expressed in a video shared on X.

"I am filled with pride, overflowing with happiness and joy. I feel like I am on the verge of bursting," he expressed. "Ladies, congratulations. Thank you so much for making this day so incredible."

The French TV celebrity and host lifted his glass towards the camera before saying: "Here's to you."

Afterwards, Sirieix posted on Twitter saying: "I am still emotional. I appreciate all of your messages. It is very important to me. I apologize that I cannot respond to everyone. Thank you xxx."

He is a member of the BBC's on-air team for the games.

He mentioned that he would be too anxious to provide commentary on air while his daughter competed, giving him an advantage over others.

In an interview with the Radio Times, he mentioned that he will be by the pool, keeping an eye on Andrea without getting involved in work. He prefers not to talk about his daughter's diving as it holds a special place in his heart.

After the event is over, I will give my remarks and share my thoughts. I am looking forward to savoring the moment. No matter the outcome, emotions will be running high.

Sirieix has two children, daughter Andrea and son Matteo Lucien Spendolini-Sirieix, who are 15 years old. He shares them with his ex-partner Alex Spendolini.

Spendolini-Sirieix competed in her first Olympic Games at the Tokyo 2020 Games when she was only 16 years old.

She has now won both the 2022 Commonwealth and European titles on her own, and her bronze medal this year has earned her the distinction of being the first British woman to win a medal in an individual Olympic event at the World Diving Championships.

"I don't measure success by awards. I aim to approach the competition with dedication, determination, and happiness. I hope to return from the event knowing that I gave it my all and made the most of the opportunity," she stated in a pre-win interview.

A contest doesn't determine my identity, but I do hope to create lasting experiences. Medals hold no value without the memories I make along the way.
