Francis Ngannou maintains that he still has more to offer in boxing despite facing a devastating loss to Anthony Joshua in the second round on Friday evening.

The ex-UFC heavyweight titleholder was completely knocked out from the third and final knockdown during his second pro boxing match after transitioning from MMA.

Before the fight, all the talk was focused on Ngannou's outstanding performance in his boxing debut against Tyson Fury last October. He rocked the boxing community by knocking the WBC heavyweight champion down with a powerful left hand. Despite losing through a narrow split-decision, Ngannou fought hard and displayed his skills, which divided opinions.

There wasn't any possibility of him doing better in his second appearance as Joshua landed three powerful right punches that did a lot of damage. Nevertheless, Ngannou is still motivated to pursue his lifelong aspiration of becoming a boxer.

"I still have unfinished business here. Today just wasn't my day. He definitely outperformed me," stated Ngannou.

"It's unfortunate, but that's just how things work in this industry. We're all aware of it."

Ngannou, who had received extensive medical attention on the floor because of the intensity of Joshua's attack, smiled and joked afterwards that he hadn't even noticed it.

Ngannou commented on his successful knockout, stating that it was a precise hit. He mentioned not feeling the impact of the punch, which is a characteristic of being knocked out. This lack of physical sensation confirms that he was successfully knocked out.

"It was a unique experience as it halted me in my tracks. It achieved something that Tyson Fury was unable to accomplish."

Joshua showed once again why he's one of the best in the heavyweight division. Fury was present at the fight, potentially sizing up Joshua for a future match-up if he successfully defeats Oleksandr Usyk in two fights to become the undisputed world champion this year.

In May of last year, Ngannou joined the Professional Fighters League after he decided not to renew his contract with the UFC. Although he still intends on pursuing boxing, it was revealed that Ngannou is set to face off against Renan Ferreira for the PFL heavyweight championship later in the year.

Currently, I am planning to head home and relax while contemplating the events that just occurred," Ngannou declared. "Today has been quite the ride, starting from this morning. I will come to terms with it and determine what my next move shall be. Perhaps I will try MMA, but I can guarantee you that my time in boxing is not yet over. Without a doubt, I am not finished."

Immediately after Ngannou's electrifying knockout victory, Joshua wasted no time in showing his backing for him by giving homage to his amazing journey thus far in the sport and advising him to persist in the sport and gain more knowledge.

Joshua advised not to lose hope and remain grounded even with success. He also emphasized not to take failures too personally. According to Joshua, the person in question is an excellent addition to the boxing world and should not let setbacks bring them down. Joshua expressed his admiration and respect towards them, stating that he believed in it before and still does. Although they had to fight, Joshua ended on a positive note, encouraging them to keep their chin up.
