Stalybridge Celtic easily defeated Squires Gate with a 5-1 victory on Saturday, showing strong form as they get ready for the upcoming football season.

Josh Quarless scored the first goal for Celtic just two minutes into the game. Jack Irlam scored two more goals before Squires Gate scored one, giving Celtic a 3-1 lead at halftime.

Goals scored by Moses Masaba and former Mossley player Jack Banister in the second half sealed the victory for the team.

"I believe we dominated the game," Irlam said in an interview with the club's YouTube channel. "Pre-season is going well, and all the players are in good shape and performing well."

Ashton United was also victorious away in Lancashire, leaving Darwen with a strong 3-0 victory.

Jason Gilchrist, Sam Baird and Jack Massey all found the back of the net before halftime at the Anchor Ground.

The team from Curzon Ashton won against Wythenshawe Town with a score of 2-1 in the semi-final of the Bulls Cup held in Jersey.

An early goal by James Spencer and a last-minute goal by Marcus Poscha helped the Nash secure their place in the final today against a team from the Arthurian League.

Coach Craig Mahon decided to substitute himself into the game during the second half and was happy to see that the team had performed better compared to their loss against Hanley Town on Tuesday evening.

"Every now and then, you can push yourself too much," he shared on Curzon's YouTube channel. "However, these guys don't have to show off to me, I already know how talented they are. I simply want them to stay true to themselves and showcase their skills."

Fuad Kasali's efforts paid off as Korey Knight scored the equalizing goal for Droylsden against Prestwich Heys.

The Bloods maintained their undefeated pre-season record with a 1-1 draw against a team that narrowly missed out on the NWCFL Premier Division play-offs.

Hyde United had various opportunities to defeat the recently promoted Wythenshawe FC, but a hard-fought draw without any goals left Tigers manager Nick Spooner regretting the chances that were not capitalized on.

In an interview with Hyde's YouTube channel, he mentioned that their performance is satisfactory in the first and second thirds of the game, but they need to improve in the final third. He highlighted that they had several opportunities during the match.

"That was a challenging match. They arrived in good physical condition, they were very aggressive in their pressing, and I found the first hour to be a great test of our skills."

In other places, Mossley suffered a 1-0 defeat in their own stadium against Halifax Town, Euxton Villa came out on top with a 2-1 victory over New Mills, and Glossop North End manager Richard Brodie's late goal only served as a consolation as the Hillmen also lost 2-1 at home.

Tuesday's games are scheduled for July 16th, starting at 7:45pm.

Atherton LR will face off against Glossop North End, Droylsden will take on Wythenshawe Town, Irlam will play against Mossley, and Ossett United will meet Curzon Ashton on July 17th at 7:45pm. Additionally, Padiham will compete against Ashton United.

Stalybridge Celtic's match against FC United has been called off to ensure the turf at Bower Fold remains in good condition.
