Junior Bears top 1,000 as Warwickshire expands young fan base

Warwickshire's Junior Bears Scheme Hits 1,000 Members!

The Junior Bears program, which only costs £10 to sign up for, has become increasingly popular in the past few years. Membership has grown significantly, starting at less than 200 members at the beginning of the 2022 season.

The fans in the younger age groups include Little Bears for toddlers under 4, Cubs for kids aged 5-12, and Grizzlies for teenagers aged 13-15.

Joining as a member means you will receive a welcome package, access to all Bears' Blast group games as well as One Day Cup and County Championship match days, discounts at the club shop, a complimentary adult ticket, and opportunities to meet and get autographs from players.

Also, the Club hosts a yearly event called Junior Bears Takeover Day, where members get the opportunity to act as stadium announcer, photographer, sports reporter, and grounds staff during a specific match day.

The head of member services at Warwickshire, Dan Clarke, expressed a desire to encourage numerous children to participate in and enjoy playing cricket. He emphasized the numerous physical and mental health benefits associated with the sport, which is deeply cherished by the organization.

Last year, our coaches visited approximately 38,000 students in schools. Additionally, our Junior Bears program is another way we are connecting with young people in hopes of nurturing future Bears fans, staff, and players.

This year's Junior Bears Takeover Day will be held on Sunday 14 July during the Blast game against Derbyshire Falcons. It is one of my preferred events of the year and I am looking forward to seeing many of our young supporters there to join in the fun.

Young Bears in the Club can be as young as one year old and go up to 15-year-olds.
