Emma Raducanu lost in her first match against Anhelina Kalinina during the Qatar Open in Doha, resulting in her elimination from the tournament.

Raducanu was given a special invitation to participate in the WTA 1000 competition, but unfortunately, she was defeated by Kalinina, who is ranked at number 32 in the world. The match had two sets: the first was 6-0, and the second was closer with a score of 7-6.

At the age of 21, the person put up a struggle in the competition after losing the first set in a short amount of time. They were able to prevent the other player from winning the match by saving points, which then led to a tiebreak in the second set.

Raducanu missed out on an opportunity to win the match in three sets by failing to capitalize on a set point, allowing her opponent Kalinina to advance to the second round where she will face Jelana Ostapenko.

After being knocked out in the second round of the Abu Dhabi tournament by Ons Jabeur, the ex-US Open victor decided to participate in the Qatar Open by using a wildcard entry spot.

However, Raducanu's loss indicates that she has been unsuccessful in four out of her seven matches since her return after being away for eight months.

Raducanu displayed her prowess upon her return to the tour in January, having undergone three surgical procedures on her wrists and ankle during the previous spring.

However, this loss will signify a regression after an outstanding victory in the opening round against Marie Bouzkova at Abu Dhabi earlier this week.

The Qatar competition, which was the inaugural WTA 1000 event of the year, had a highly competitive lineup that included Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff making their first appearance since the Australian Open.
