Introduction to Diane Abbott

Diane Abbott is a British Labour Party politician who has been a Member of Parliament (MP) for Hackney North and Stoke Newington since 1987. Born in London to Jamaican parents, Abbott studied history at Cambridge University before becoming a journalist and working for the Home Office. She was the first black woman elected to the House of Commons and has since made a name for herself as an outspoken advocate for social justice and equality.

Diane Abbott's political career
