Dave Myers from the Hairy Bikers TV program has disclosed that during his cancer treatment he had difficulty gaining weight and was diagnosed with anorexia by medical professionals.

In May 2022, the renowned television cook, aged 66, made a public announcement that he was undergoing treatment for a type of cancer, which he did not disclose.

During the latest episode of The Hairy Bikers Go West, which was broadcast on BBC2 on Tuesday evening, the TV cook discussed his weight stabilisation with his Hairy Bikers co-host, Si King.

In the initial episode, Si and Dave had a meal together and discussed Dave's "eating habits" following his cancer diagnosis. Si acknowledged that Dave has had a difficult time.

Dave said that losing a significant amount of weight can make it very difficult to consume enough calories to sustain your body. This task can be extremely challenging and require a lot of effort.

Dave Myers, known for his role in Hairy Bikers, has shared that he was diagnosed with anorexia by medical professionals as he found it difficult to put on weight throughout his cancer therapy.

There was a time when I received a diagnosis of anorexia, which may surprise you given the amount of dieting I have undergone.

Well, I'm doing fine at the moment, and I've accepted my current situation. My weight has remained constant, so I plan on continuing with my current routine.

As Dave underwent his intense chemotherapy sessions, he also experienced a loss of equilibrium which greatly concerned him. Being a television star, he worried that his role in the popular series might be at risk if he was unable to operate a motorcycle once more.

Dave shared an emotional moment with his friend during the first episode of the new series when he expressed that he never believed he would ride a motorcycle again after learning about his illness. However, despite his initial doubts, they are now able to ride together.

There was a period when I struggled to maintain my balance and walk steadily. Cycling was not a thought that occurred to me during that time. However, I am now completely capable and confident in my abilities.

Si inquired about how Dave managed to regain his health. Dave answered that it took quite an effort on his part, both through intense physical exertion and regular rehabilitation sessions.

My foot is still in a splint, but it doesn't stop me from changing gears. It's such a delight! I absolutely adore everything about riding a bike, from the equipment to the scent. It's like a dream come true, my friend. I am filled with gratitude for this experience.

Before filming the latest show where they'll be travelling from Scotland to Devon, Dave took a short break from work.

During their latest show, The Hairy Bikers Go West on BBC2, the famous chef had a chat with his co-star Si King about his weight and how it has finally evened out.

During Dave's intense chemotherapy sessions, he also experienced difficulty with balancing. As a result, the celebrity became worried that he may be unable to ride a motorcycle again. He was concerned that this could negatively impact his role on his popular television program.

Si expressed deep appreciation for Dave's contributions in making their latest series exceptional when they resumed filming last week. Si's tribute was filled with strong emotions.

Si expressed: 'This series will forever be etched in our memories, not that we will disregard others.'

We feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue our work and I believe that this instance was especially exceptional due to Dave's health issues and his unwavering passion and resolve for his profession.

It truly took extraordinary bravery and vitality for him to persist in carrying out the task, particularly while undergoing treatment. This is one of the factors that Dave and I will always remember.

During Dave's tough chemotherapy treatment, he has experienced another indication characterized by the loss of his balance. As a famous TV personality, he was worried that his role in the popular program would be at risk if he could not operate a motorcycle anymore.

The host, who is 57 years old, expressed that the latest travel show is a delightful tribute to their amazing and imaginative bond. They were pleased to visit Myers' birthplace in Lancashire while filming the series.

"He mentioned that Dave is a guy from the west coast and we had a great time going to some of the places he used to frequent and our preferred spots," he included.

Our main goal, especially Dave's, was to hop on the bicycle, begin filming, and restore a sense of regularity for himself, his loved ones, our crew, and me. He committed to this objective and triumphed through that particular phase of his medical care.

The culinary companions who travel on motorcycles have returned for another season of The Hairy Bikers Go West on BBC Two. According to Si (on the right), this show has helped bring back a sense of routine for Dave (on the left).

Si, who is from County Durham, also commented that during the first day of filming, there was a delightful moment where Dave passed him on their bikes on the road. This proved to be reminiscent of their past experiences, suggesting that it felt as if no time had passed at all.

He said, "When we communicated through our devices, he asked me, "Hey Kingy, are you positive that we're turning left at this point?". I found that conversation quite impressive. This has been our method for the past two decades. It was a truly heartfelt moment."

During the seven divisions of the series, Si and Dave travel over 600 miles and make pit stops in Merseyside, North Wales, and Bristol.

Their trips motivated them to create delightful dishes such as Chicken Balmoral paired with truffle-smashed potatoes and poached lobster complemented with Scottish Bucatini pasta. They also crafted Lamb chop pakoras fused with traditional Persian rice and Lancashire Butter and Potato Pie.
