Si King, a chef who also rides motorcycles, made public the news of his colleague's passing. He stated that Myers passed away this Wednesday while he was beside him, and that he died calmly in his own home.

King revealed in a statement posted on X that his wife, Liliana, together with his close friend David and family were present with him during an eventful time.

The message said that the author would think of the person they are talking about every day and feel the loss of the connection and companionship they had for more than half of their lifetime.

"My best wishes and blessings go out to you, my brother. You will always be a shining light in this world. Until we meet again, take care. Love you."

In May 2022, Myers made the revelation about his cancer diagnosis on the Hairy Bikers - Agony Uncles podcast. However, he refrained from divulging the specific type of cancer he was battling.

During his chemotherapy treatment in 2023, he shared in interviews that he had experienced occasions where he was too weak to stand up and had to abstain from riding his motorbike because of his lack of balance.

The celebrity cook resumed filming near the end of the year and can now be seen on television travelling across the country from Scotland to Devon in the new BBC Two series, Hairy Bikers Go West, which started airing in February.

Before the show was broadcasted, King complimented his co-star by calling them "exceptional". He also stated that this show is one that they will always hold dear to their memories, though that does not mean they won't cherish other shows.

We feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to engage in this work and I believe that this particular instance was particularly extraordinary due to Dave's health challenges. Despite these obstacles, he exhibited unwavering determination and a genuine passion for his craft.

It required a tremendous amount of bravery and vitality for him to persist in doing it despite undergoing treatment, which is one of the reasons why Dave and I will always remember it.

At the beginning, Myers had a job as a makeup artist. In 1995, he came across King for the first time on the set of a television drama titled The Gambling Man.

In 2004, they made their very first television appearance on The Hairy Bikers' Cookbook, a show that combined elements of cooking and travel. During this program, they traveled the entire length of Portugal together.

She expressed, "Dave, you showed me how to enjoy and approach each day with a positive attitude. Sleep peacefully my beloved companion. I will deeply miss you."

Rachel Riley, who was a part of the same series as Myers, has fond memories of him. She recalls him being a wonderful person who never failed to bring happiness to everyone in the green room after each show.

One of my favorite memories is when Dave, @ashoztd, Nicky Butt, and I snuck into an office Christmas party that was being held at the same hotel where we were staying for the final episode of the show.
