The group, Hairy Bikers, had to give out an alert to their followers when fraudsters attempted to gain profits from the death of Dave Myers.

The adored television personality passed away at the age of 66, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Si King, who is the best friend of Myers, recently shared the news last month. He expressed his sorrow and mentioned that he would feel the absence of Myers every day. Furthermore, he paid tribute to their strong bond and friendship that had lasted for half of their lives.

After the news of Myers' death spread and fans expressed their sorrow, his wife Liliana honored him with a heartfelt tribute and expressed gratitude for their support. However, unscrupulous individuals are now attempting to profit from the tragic event by scamming people.

On Facebook, the crew at Hairy Bikers Management Team shared a message expressing their profound grief over the death of Dave Myers.

We are saddened by his departure and we will all feel his absence. Nevertheless, your assistance is urgently required at this time!

They posted a file that had a screenshot of a fraudulent webpage pretending to be King and soliciting donations.

We've been receiving quite a few messages from people like you who are noticing that there are bogus profiles cropping up on both Facebook and Instagram. One of the more recent ones we've seen is pretending to be Si King.

For the last 14 days, our crew has been making an effort to convince Meta - the company that manages Facebook and Instagram - to delete these fabricated accounts, but so far, we haven't had any luck.

Take a look at this picture of a counterfeit webpage. Can you see that the name 'Si King' doesn't have a 'Blue Tick' beside it? There have been situations where a 'post' includes a link to a Bitcoin trick that asks for donations to a cancer charity in the name of Dave Myers. However, please don't be fooled - this is all phony.

The article continued: 'We need your assistance in two ways. First, if you have been tricked by the phoney profile, which has already fooled 1000 people, please unsubscribe from it as your details may be sold. Second, kindly notify Facebook of the counterfeit profile.'

The post stated that the scammers are causing more confusion by replicating authentic posts that we post on our page. By collectively reporting the fake accounts, Facebook will surely take action once numerous reports surface. Let Mark Zuckerberg be aware of this issue!

We are sincerely grateful for your assistance and generosity. Please help us put an end to this matter, as it goes against the values of the Hairy Bikers. We are disappointed by the inaction of Shocking Meta.

The counterfeit accounts have caused a wave of surprise and anger amongst supporters. Marilyn, who follows the account, left a remark expressing her deep distaste for the situation by stating: "This is unacceptable, I am terribly sorry to imagine that this is taking place. Although I have not noticed anything yet, I will address the problem if required. Meta's conduct is shameful."

Jayne expressed her distress by saying that what was happening was terrible.

David expressed his anger and frustration towards the situation that Simon is currently dealing with, stating that he already has enough on his plate and doesn't need any extra stress. David also mentioned that he reported the situation.

This happened following Myers' last TV appearance that left the audience devastated.

The latest installment was shown some days back, with the close pals concluding The Hairy Bikers Go West with touching moments.

When they were filming the show in Devon and Dorset, Myers was receiving chemotherapy treatment. They expressed gratitude for what they had accomplished while filming the series.

During the period when I was documenting, I underwent a series of chemotherapy sessions. It was indeed a challenging experience, but finally, I was able to overcome it, and I feel great now, Myers expressed to the camera.

Si became emotional on camera and spoke with tears in his eyes: 'We achieved it, but what's more important is that he achieved it.'

"He's my friend, but I cherish him like a member of my own family, like a dear brother, and I'm truly grateful. It's truly astonishing what he has accomplished."

After Myers stated, "I'm living in the present, and it's quite extraordinary," the episode came to a close. The future is uncertain, but for now, he is content with the present moment.
