Dave Day is an event to honor and remember the life of the late Dave Myers. It involves a procession that is anticipated to see the participation of roughly 20,000 individuals as they make their way towards Myers' hometown of Barrow-in-Furness.
The bikers started their journey from London. Si King, who is also a TV personality and one of the Hairy Bikers, called the experience "incredible" and a way to honor his dear departed friend.
Lots of people at Ace Cafe in north London had on Hawaiian shirts, and King said, "Everyone's rocking that cool Dave fashion sense, you know... those not-quite-right shirts."

The concept for Dave Day came about during Myers' funeral when Lili requested that Jason Woodcock gather a few bikes.
"They arrived at the funeral, enjoyed some alcoholic drinks, as one normally would, and while they chatted, the concept of conducting a commemorative ride came up."
A crowd of individuals congregated along the pathway to show their support for the parade.
On Saturday, the festivities will revolve around Barrow Town Hall featuring shows, booths operated by nearby merchants who have collaborated with the Hairy Bikers on several initiatives, and a commemorative ceremony.
According to the organizers, the occasion will collect funds for NSPCC Childline and The Institute of Cancer Research. The donations will be divided equally between the two charitable organizations.
Before the event, Si King shared a video message online, where he advised everyone to prioritize safety and consideration for others to ensure a fantastic day ahead.
Additional cyclists will be joining the parade as it travels towards the northern direction.

He noted that highlighting the good aspects of Barrow is highly beneficial and that it is a wonderful location.
The pupils and faculty members at Greengate Junior School located in Barrow adorned themselves with costumes mimicking Dave Myers during the commemoration of Dave Day.

Dawn Mayers, who hails from Fleetwood, a town near Blackpool, usually spends the majority of her time residing in Malaysia.
She made the decision to return to the United Kingdom specifically to participate in the festivities.
We lost Dave while we were visiting Malaysia. To honor his memory, we chose to light a candle for him at a nearby Buddhist temple.

On Friday, Ms Mayers made it to Barrow and expressed that the ambiance was electrifying.

A 70-year-old named Keni Carrington embarked on a journey from France and arrived on Friday. He plans to ride the entire route from the Ace Cafe to Barrow.
Last June, Chris, Ms Carrington's husband of 35 years and a fellow motorcycle enthusiast, passed away after being diagnosed with cancer.
"My partner, Chris, shared a deep connection with Dave Myers and would have taken joy in participating in this ride," she expressed.
Keni Carrington has made a journey from France and is currently cycling to honor the memory of her beloved spouse, Chris.
In the meantime, individuals who were having a hard time finding a place to stay received assistance from nearby inhabitants who provided their additional rooms, caravans, and even outdoor spaces.
Tim Walker made his garden in Askam-in-Furness available for people to stay overnight in tents.
"We had enough space in the garden and some additional rooms available, so we figured why not? We had tents and spare accommodations at our disposal," he explained.
Mr. Walker and his spouse are also intending to provide breakfast to their group of eight visitors.
He refused to charge guests for accommodation on his land and proposed that they "contribute a donation into the container" as an alternative.
Tim Walker provided his garden in Askam-in-Furness as a space for individuals to set up camp.
Barrow Town's representative, Dani Petrova, expressed her admiration for Myers by stating that he was an average resident of Barrow. Nonetheless, his achievements were a source of pride for the entire community.
She mentioned that she was completely surprised by the response to Dave Day.

Drivers have been advised of significant congestion due to the occurrence of three major events in Cumbria.
Alongside Dave Day, the Appleby Horse Fair is currently happening and the Great North Swim is being held in Windermere.
Cumbria Police and National Highways have suggested that drivers should allocate additional time for their travels.
