In reality, it's her simplest role yet, but despite her continued success, Daisy Edgar-Jones claims that Normal People is still the most fulfilling job she has ever had.

Normal People, a TV series based on Sally Rooney's popular novel, was a huge hit when it premiered in 2020. The show instantly catapulted actors Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal to fame.

Published during the period of strict lockdown in the United Kingdom, the series showcased the experiences of heartbroken Irish teenagers Marianne Sheridan and Connor Waldren and their complicated, on-and-off relationship.

Looking back on the role that really launched her career, 26-year-old Edgar-Jones acknowledges that Marianne still has a significant influence on her professional life, even though she has worked on many high-budget Hollywood projects.

"I am most recognized for my role in Normal People," she stated in an interview with The Times Culture magazine. "The show had a significant impact on both the audience and myself."

It could be argued that this is the simplest role she has tackled so far, but Daisy Edgar-Jones believes that Normal People is still the most fulfilling job she has ever had, despite all the success that has come after.

The actress quickly became a star in 2020 after appearing in only 12 episodes of the BBC Three adaptation of Sally Rooney's book. Paul and Daisy, who are pictured in the show, gained popularity with audiences.

She said: "I feel completely pampered by Normal People. It had everything I could ever want in my ideal role, world, film-maker, and writer."

In every profession, there are certain tasks or projects that are truly special and unforgettable. After experiencing that, you can't help but crave that same amazing feeling again. It's difficult to find anything that can surpass it.

The actress is currently promoting a thrilling disaster film called Twisters, where she stars alongside actress Kiernan Shipka from the TV show Mad Men and Glen Powell.

In her latest movie, the actress is shining in a glamorous Hollywood setting with impressive computer-generated imagery. This is a big departure from her first television appearance as Olivia in the ITV show Cold Feet. In that role, she played the daughter of David and Karen Marsden while also studying for her A-level exams.

"I never thought that would happen," she said about her successful career path. "I started from humble beginnings."

She continued: 'I was eager to find employment, in any capacity. While I had a preference for working in theatre, my main focus was simply securing a job.'

The actress and Mescal, 28, are still very good friends, and his career has continued to do well after the success of Normal People.

In a recent chat with Variety, Edgar-Jones revealed that her previous co-star, who is now gearing up for a major role in Gladiator II, is one of her closest friends for life.

She mentioned: "He is very down-to-earth, and I consider myself to be the same way. It's great to have someone like that who you can share jokes and light moments with."

A 12-episode series based on the book written by Sally Rooney, Normal People quickly gained popularity, turning Edgar-Jones and Mescal into well-known stars overnight.

We first crossed paths when I was 20 and Paul was 22. I'm filled with anticipation to see where we will find ourselves at 32, 42, and what adventures life has in store for us.
