Arsenal are feeling let down and worried about the consequences of possibly losing young striker Chido Obi-Martin to Manchester United.

The 16-year-old gained a lot of attention last season because of his amazing ability to score goals for the Gunners' young teams.

Obi-Martin scored an impressive 32 goals in 18 games for the Under-18 team, with 10 of those goals coming in a single match against Liverpool.

Arsenal thought they had done everything they needed to in order to persuade Obi-Martin to sign a new contract. They offered him a lot of money and a clear plan for his future within the team.

Mikel Arteta had a one-on-one conversation with the young player from Denmark to try and strengthen Arsenal's sales pitch. However, Obi-Martin ended up being swayed by the attention from United and Bayern Munich.

Additionally, Arsenal offered Obi-Martin a weekly salary of approximately £15,000. He was also informed that he would primarily play for the Under-18s in the upcoming season and join the Under-21s when possible. There would also be chances for him to train with the first team players.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Obi-Martin's team hoped for their player to be immediately included in the U-21 team, but the deciding factor was the financial aspect.

According to reports, United have increased the salary they offered compared to Arsenal. However, the suggestion that the player's decision to move was purely based on money has been dismissed.

Obi-Martin and his team reportedly had serious concerns about their chances of getting playing time with the main Arsenal team. This is because many other young players have been disappointed with not getting enough opportunities under Arteta.

This summer, the talented Amario Cozier-Duberry made a move to Brighton. Reuell Walters, who was on the bench for last season's meaningless Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven, has now signed with Luton Town.

The former students from Hale End Academy, Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah, seem likely to be transferred, even though they were once important players in the first team.

Obi-Martin has reportedly finalized the details of his transfer to United and had already written a farewell message to Arsenal earlier this week.

"I want to say a big thank you to everyone at Arsenal for the past four years," he posted on Instagram.

The lessons and personal development I have gained during my time here have been incredibly important. I am grateful to the trainers, staff, and fellow team members at Hale End for their support.
