Arsenal's young talent Chido Obi-Martin has caught the attention of Manchester United, as he has turned down a new contract offer from his current club.
Obi-Martin, a Danish player who has previously resided and competed in England, gained recognition for scoring an impressive 10 goals against Liverpool's youth squad in the past year.
The sports news outlet, The Athletic, has stated that Obi-Martin is prepared to depart from Arsenal, even though he was given a contract renewal that the Premier League runners-up believed to be acceptable.
The 16-year-old player will have the option to depart Arsenal once he turns 17 on November 29, and it seems like Manchester United is ready to take advantage of the chance to secure the talented young player right away.
Man United is reportedly considering a deal for the young talent, who is 6ft 2in tall and plays as a centre-forward from Denmark. This would see him joining United's youth team and catching the attention of first-team coach Erik ten Hag if he performs well.
Chido Obi-Martin might be heading to Manchester United once he reaches 17 years old in November.
The talented teenager has just rejected a new deal that would have kept him in the northern part of London.
Obi-Martin finished the season by scoring 32 goals in the Under-18 Premier League, breaking the previous record held by Folarin Balogun.
He had an impressive streak of scoring goals for the Gunners' youth team in the 2023-24 season. He was coached by former academy player Jack Wilshere. He scored 10 goals in a 14-3 victory over Liverpool and 7 goals in a 9-0 victory over Norwich.
The forward's impressive performance in the Norwich match was highlighted by scoring three goals in just 17 minutes, following his five-goal game against West Ham two weeks prior.
Obi-Martin observed his fellow Arsenal academy teammate, Ethan Nwaneri, make history by becoming the youngest player in the Premier League. Ethan made his debut last season in a 3-0 victory over Brentford when he was just 15 years, five months, and 28 days old.
Arsenal's young player, Chido Obi-Martin, scored ten goals against the youth team of Liverpool.
The Arsenal Under-18s team is led by Jack Wilshere, who used to play in Arsenal's youth academy.
The 16-year-old has played for the young teams of Denmark, where he was born, and England in 2023. He can also choose to play for Nigeria because of his father.
The young player is currently representing Denmark, but there is a possibility that he may decide to switch back to playing for England before turning 18.
