The attendees at the Grammy Awards were taken aback when Celine Dion surprisingly appeared on stage despite her diagnosed incurable illness in 2022.

On the 4th of February, during the conclusion of the event, Dion who is 55 years old arrived on stage in order to give out the last prize, Album of the Year. The well-known tune "The Power of Love" was accompanying her on stage. The crowd responded instantly by standing up to applaud the singer while a few celebrities sang in unison with the popular track.

The vocalist is making her debut on stage again after she disclosed in December 2022 that she was suffering from Stiff Person Syndrome, a medical condition that affects the immune system and nervous system and leads to stiffness in the torso and limbs. Due to this, she had to call off her global tour.

During the Grammy awards ceremony, Dion awarded Taylor Swift with the prestigious Album of the Year Grammy for her album, Midnights. This marks the fourth time Swift has been recognized in this category. In addition, Dion used the opportunity to pay tribute to two music icons, Diana Ross and Sting, who had presented her with the same award almost three decades prior.

She added, "Lately, doctors have confirmed that I suffer from an uncommon neurological ailment known as Stiff Person Syndrome, which impacts only one person among a million."
