Celine Dion becomes emotional and sheds tears while discussing the obstacles she encountered following her identification with stiff person syndrome (SPS) in a fresh preview of her forthcoming documentary.

Irene Taylor, who is an Oscar-nominated director, is the person behind the making of I Am: Celine Dion, which is set to give viewers a sneak peek into the life of the Canadian music icon. The documentary focuses on Celine's journey since being diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder and the hardships she has faced to continue performing. In 2021, the 56-year-old had to cancel her residency show in Las Vegas due to health concerns, and later in December 2022, she disclosed her SPS diagnosis and had to call off her Courage World Tour.

In the beginning of the trailer, there's a scene where Dion sings a high-pitched note. Shortly after, the video cuts to her voiceover saying that her voice is what leads her life. She believes that when your voice brings you happiness, you become the best version of yourself. That's why she considers her voice as her most important tool.

Next, the scene switches to a distress call being placed. The vocalist, seated in a chair, reveals, "I have a very uncommon neurological condition, and I wasn't prepared to discuss it earlier, but I am now." The preview showcases several short clips of Dion dominating the stage during her concerts and working on music in the studio as she contemplates her career.

"It's easy to put on a performance. But stopping one is the real challenge," she states in the short preview. "I am putting in effort daily, but I have to confess, it's not been easy." Dion gets emotional and says, "I long for it terribly. The audience and their presence." Even if I can't run, I'll take it slow. If I can't walk, I'll crawl. But quitting is not an option."

The documentary named Prime Video has been advertised as a "heartfelt message to her supporters." This film will emphasize "the music that has been a constant presence in her life and will also demonstrate the strength of the human soul." This famous celebrity's most popular songs include My Heart Will Go On, Think Twice, and It's All Coming Back To Me Now. Throughout her 40 years in the industry, she has sold over 250 million albums.

Dion has accomplished winning five Grammys, two Oscars and the icon award for lifetime achievement at the Billboard Music Awards. She spoke about finishing her global tour in a recent Vogue France cover feature that was published last month.

Dion expressed her uncertainty about returning to a previous commitment she made four years ago. She acknowledged that she has gone back and forth on the decision, feeling both ready and unprepared. Presently, she is unable to confirm whether she will commit in the coming four months, as she is unsure of what her body will tell her. However, she does not want to simply wait around, as it is difficult to live with the constant moral struggle of not knowing what the future holds.

Working is quite challenging lately and it will be more challenging tomorrow. However, tomorrow is a new day. Yet, one's willpower, passion, and determination are unstoppable. The dream keeps motivating them.

SPS causes muscle stiffness and spasms as its primary symptoms. Unfortunately, there is no known cure yet, but there are several treatment options available such as muscle sedatives and relaxants. Another treatment route for those living with SPS is through physical and occupational therapy.

The upcoming June 25, the streaming giant Prime Video will globally broadcast the film I Am: Celine Dion.
